Thanks. I used photographs of magnolia and created symmetrical images from them. I made the pictures into an animation which I synced to the tempo of the music for the video. I used video synthesis footage created with the LZX Visual Cortex and a bunch of home made video synth modules (including some video modified Thomas Henry 555 vco's). Then I edited the videos in Motion and used the kaleidoscope plugin on the video synthesis footage. Recently, I have been using a real home made kaleidoscope and sending material through it via a simple LCD screen attached to the end of the kaleidoscope. It is less accurate but allows the project to be used live.
