Sold out of the first batch pretty quickly.

Putting together a new batch now.

They are basically just a good way to learn the do's and dont's
of vintage video processor modding
so you don't shock yrself or fry the machine.

The effects you will find in building it
are all unique analog video fx in a dirty b/w burnt vhs glitch way
but controllable due to the pots and switches.

Hears a video example:

I would also be interested in the next available batch.

Still out of stock.....going to be a bit.

There are a few other diy video kits out there
but this is the only that exists that involves learning
via exploring instead of paint by numbers pcb circuitry building.

I hope it doesn't involve exploring via plugged into AC like you've said you do.

Ha! It does!

but the kit shows you how to avoid being the dead burn banana man.

I have modded over a 100+ of these machines if thats of any value.

Schematics?

Post by fuckthisregistration » Sat Feb 15, 2014 4:03 pm

I have the archer video enhancer.... Any chance of getting some schematics, or tips on mod points? I found a couple by looking through the schematic, but I know this thing has a lot more potential.

Thanks in advance

Schematics:

These were sold in the golden-age of Radio Shack when most of their product manuals included schematics!

There was someone who posted awhile ago, can't find the thread though, about a PCB add-on that makes circuit bending these much easier.

Ah-ha, Found it:

Do the instruction manuals for this still exist? I've been digging around but can't find anything since it seems to be well out of circulation?

I've been struggling to get started with my first Archer bend cause I'm a novice at this stuff.

I would also be interested in a kit. There are a couple Archer devices near me in a lot sale for next to nothing. I would like to mod these Tachyon style 8-)

@wcfields - I can honestly say your show, The Experimental Half Hour, is what got me into video synthesis / video art in general. Bravo!!! I was/am a huge fan!

Also interested in a kit or even just paying a small amount for the instructions and sourcing my own parts and archer processor
