Speaking of early Genesis, I've been listening to the Lost Radio Recordings. It's an interesting document of a band in transition from one that was, frankly a bit shit, to one at the top of their game.

Went on the Friday in Manchester and the Saturday in Sheffield to watch them perform this LP.
Couple of hundred at each.

The recently deceased Bill Rieflin was on drumming duties.

Today's new discoveries:

Thundercat! E.g....

Also, John Tropea!! E.g....

Indeed, there are a lot of things on Terminal Passage's YouTube channel that I want to check out. Another one that seems quite good on first listen: Auracle (Glider)

There's so much amazing music out there to be discovered... one just needs a window into it sometimes.

I only discovered this band a few months ago and I can't stop listening to them - mainly the recent LPs.

Robyn Hitchcock is ace. He sometimes eats in my local pub apparently (though I've never seen him). I think his parents live in the village.

My wife saw him down the road taking a random photo of a post box(!)

I've seen him live several times and he's always great value. I really enjoyed it when he did that Captain Beefheart tribute set with some early Pink Floyd numbers in the encore. I tend to think the LPs a bit patchy but haven't heard Olé Tarantula - will give it a listen. I remember really liking the title track when he played it live.

He's one of those artists, like Julian Cope and Howe Gelb, where the recorded work often doesn't seem big enough to capture the personality of the performer.

Muleskinner..John Dwyer ...well he's got that kind of band I want to be in. I've got 11 of his (their) LPs so yeah..also quite smitten with them.

Robyn Hitchcock is another I'm madly in love with. His last self titled album is definitely worth checking out...has that Soft Boys vibe to it.
The lyrics also not as cryptic as the usual affair.

Last night ended with some banging 90s Trance.

This morning was from one of Liverpool's finest bands.
Not many bands put out their first 4 albums of this quality.

Moved onto DnB

Which led to Asian Dub Foundation....Powerful live act. Good energy.

Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs - Viscerals. Their 3rd album if I'm correct. The usual bombastic in yer mush affair...with hints of humour.
