I highly recommend the Eleven Phases compilation:

http://www.discogs.com/Various-Eleven-P ... ster/34775

Some Original Detroit Techno Artists (Kenny Larkin, Anthony Shakir, Kelly Hand, Robert Hood etc.)...doing mostly instrumental hip-hop tracks.

Lukid's older stuff is genius. 'The Now' is probably one of my favorite tracks ever, and somewhat of an inspiration for pretty much everything I make (won't ever come close to it though, obviously).

I saw Lukid play with a bunch of Danish guys in Copenhagen a few years back (2008 or something). New Folder collective. Nabo was one of them. Aslope another. Nabo was incredible. As was Lukid, by the way - one of the best live electronic performers I've seen, I think. Aslope has got some really good tracks too, although not strictly instrumental hip-hop.

(Not hip-hop this one, just a ridiculously good track, I always get goose bumps when the main melody line come in at around 1:30);

Jehst - instrumentals for The Return of Drifter and Falling Down still get many listens after many years

Prefuse 73 under any moniker is always good

El-P's High Water is epic

Cappo

Lewis Parker

Ous Mal (not exactly 100% hiphop but still some of my favourite instrumental musics)

French label DEZORDR Records has 8 compilation (free download) with really cool stuff: http://www.dezordr.com/dezordr/index.php?option=com_content&view=category&layout=blog&id=11&Itemid=5
Not all the tracks are instrumentals but most of them are.

Great stuff posted so far.

There's these Secret Garden Vol. 1 & 2 Compilations that are very good, and free to d/l:

http://dloaw.bandcamp.com/album/the-secret-garden

http://dloaw.bandcamp.com/album/secret-garden-2

And Suhov, a personal favorite of mine. He deserves some serious notice. His album titled "Lawn" is sick (and also free)!! Here's the link:

https://sunsiderec.bandcamp.com/album/lawn

I mean, just listen to this sh*t!! https://soundcloud.com/suhov/catnap
