albums/recordings made with buchla?

Post by dbhn » Wed Dec 23, 2015 5:06 pm

hello

was wondering if anyone could recommend albums recorded using the buchla synth. maybe i've already heard some, but without knowing.

it could be interesting to state albums/recordings by categories according to synth types: serge-centered, buchla, ems, and so on?

200e:

Blindoldfreak "1" (check out the YouTube video of the song Everything Ends Here performed as a duo with Don Buchla Himself)

Easel:

Alessandro Cortini "Forse 1", " Forse 2", "Forse 3".

Mr. Cortini is well regarded as a player of Buchla instruments.

Cheers,
-ian

today i listened to 'euclid' by kaitlyn aurelia smith; kind of pop-oriented synth, drone music. lovely music and i think she works with an easel...

She does use an Easel. Also her new album, EARS, is album of the week on Bleep this week! Listening to it now, very nice indeed.

Pretty sure Jon Brooks made his last couple of albums using Buchla 200 series. Walberswick and 52 are amazing.

He's been using Buchla systems lately, but I believe this album is all Euro, mainly Intellijel.

Wow - I always assumed it was a Moog Modular. I'll need to have another listen to the album!

Cheers for the heads up on this. Listened a couple of times this morning. I don't think it's one of my favourite things ever but it is definitely full of very interesting timbres and structures and modulates between soft and noodly and roaring terrorwaves. Grand stuff.
