I'm really liking Journey in Satchidananda by Alice Coltrane right now. New to her music but it's an amazing record.

The new Fovea Hex EP with the Steven Wilson ambient remixes is just to die for. It's like the best bits of Coil, Dead Can Dance and C.O.B. had a beautiful baby. Other thing I love about them is the sound quality is always just completely off the charts, on top of the incredible music itself.

This is the top release of 2019 for me.

I was becoming convinced that Berlin school styled electronic music is overdone by now and there's nothing new there anymore. Luckily I was wrong... This is fresh, very good stuff and the strangest thing is that it is a pair of older veterans of the genre behind it... Peter Baumann and Paul Haslinger. So it is not a surprise that they know what they are doing, but this new one is still surprisingly vivid and fresh stuff... The spirit of the early days combined with new sounds and textures. Sounds positively dark, mysterious and even downright weird here and there. Especially with headphones in the double cd format. Very highly recommended...

Currently I'm really digging this old Eastern European synth pop I found on YouTube: Sonda 1 and 2 -- really good stuff!

Squarepusher - My Sound
Squarepusher - Iambic 5 Poetry
Squarepusher - Our Underwater Torch

Beautiful trio of songs. Must have been recorded at the same time but spaced out on three releases.

Hairy old blokes making trippy-rock music. No vocals.

Here's their first gig (which I blimmin' well missed).

I must be on a similar wavelength. Squarepusher & Roosevelt have been on heavy rotation lately. And those three songs above are gems, thanks for the reminder.

Also been enjoying Al Dobson Jr
Worth checking out if you're into the kind of instrumental, swung beats and chopped samples of earlier Prefuse 73, Dilla, Dabrye, etc—more mellow though, and a bit more tribal, fairly minimal. Nice warm sound.

I've been rinsing the new Richard Dawson record since I got it last month at his gig. First time I've seen him with the band setup and it was pretty good.
