my furnace: some thick white noise as the air blows, with random ambient metallic rattling that echoes thru the ducts, occasionally
Sounds cool, grab that Zoom!

Saddened to hear about the passing of Matthew Seligman. Superb musician who played with many greats and member of The Soft Boys. Covid19 is a c*nt.

Just got this from Perfect Circuit a few days ago. This is awesome and made me rethink how little you need to produce something cool. Very inspiring...

Yeah I was saddened by his loss as well. He played a good amount with both Thomas Dolby and the Thompson Twins as well. I heard about it from a tweet from Tom Bailey.

8:50pm was Dig your own Hole by The Chemical BrothersImage

Followed by Leftism by Leftfield

Both of which I saw when they got released.

Some great insight into the making of by the artists.

Ending the evening with this compilation on Rising High records.

It would seem that still, after all these years, perception is essentially thought to be a passive process.

Lately, I've become obsessed with the first movement of Messiaen's Meditations sur le mystere de la sainte trinite, particularly the last part, which starts at 6:24 with "the turning stars" then an incredible crescendo of ascending chords, and finally a massive fortissimo with the word "inengendre" (unbegotten) spelled out in the pedal, culminating in a massive cathedral scream of a final chord.

I'm studying the score to try to discover why this is so magical.
