I've given them a few chances,,, Guess I'm old now.. yuck.

I've given them a few chances... liked em better when they were Body Count.

I've given them a few chances - I heard someone say they are the most important band of the 2010s... pish posh.

They had a few good tricks up their sleeve. Like booking that tour where they didn't show up and just having a picture and the new record playing over the PA. And then booking that other tour with NIN and then breaking up before the tour started. The penis on the album cover.. It's all like shock value and drama to me. I feel like their marketing ability surpasses their music ability... I can see what would make them a contender for most "important" in a lot of eyes seemings that the music doesn't really matter anymore.

The antithesis of Carson Daly bullshit. Absolutely necessary. :guinness:

I'm hijacking this thread to say that I just only listened to "Cop Killer" and I really need more Body Count in my life.

Totally agree. Never found them to be any creepier or weirder than a lot of amateur art-student bands.

Currently one of my favorite acts. I don't get the body count reference at all. One of the only acts in hip hop that I remotely care about

I have been enjoying Entartete Elektronische lately. Great background filler. Nice music to study by.

And why the fuck did Spotify take down cop killer? Now what am I supposed to put on when I get pulled over?

saw them in 2012 at a gig in the basement of a church

show was very weak honestly... they just played the full songs through the PA w/ vocals and everything. zac hill drummed on top and mc ride did vocals in addition to the vocals that were already there in the original song. i remember thinking that he could be reading a cake recipe for all i knew b/c the volume of his vocals in the backing track was basically the same as his live vocals in the mix through the PA, and both were extremely shrill due to the PA being junk. bass was just farting away. mc ride seemed very drunk and the whole thing just kind of seemed like bad edgy karaoke.

exmilitary and the money store are the only decent things they've done IMO, and i can't listen to either without rolling my eyes now b/c of how impotently edgy they sound in hindsight. they were definitely influential to a whole lot of mid 2010's music, almost all of which i also can't take seriously now.

just my two cents... pls don't flame me :hide:

Nickelback for hipsters.
Can't stand their fanbase.
