Joy Electric

Post by neandrewthal » Fri Sep 19, 2008 1:54 am

Is anyone else into him? I'm obsessed. OBSESSED :hail: I am pushing 30 Joy Electric CD's/Vinyls in my collection. It's even at the point where I will buy a comp full of shitty Christian punk bands because it has a "rough" mix of a Joy Electric song available somewhere else :help:

Any chance you'd sell the Tick Tock Companion for more synth funds? I'll pay closer to :75: than $0 :cloud:

I thought the covers albums was OK. Poor selection of songs IMO, but they are all better than the originals cause its Joy Electric.

I think they kick ass too, I've seen them play a few small venues quite a few years ago. Good fun.

I've heard they used a moog prodigy and roland system 100.

Love the newer stuff not so big on the 90's stuff. Great use of minimal gear!

I couldn't resist replying to this... Been a fan for quite some time, was introduced to his sounds at the first "Harvest Moon Festival" back in what, '96? Haven't kept up with anything past "Ministry Of Archers" though... Was introduced to his music by the owner of "The Mud Hut" in Edmonton, and almost had a chance to see him live (for free too!), but nooo, I had to be called into work..

Favourite album is Robot Rock.

Haha, are you referring to his more recent croaky vocal stylings? If so then only on the last couple of releases.

he used to sing like a pretty little girl instead of adam sandler. but really, i would have said the MGTC voice was more like elmer fudd.
