Just to resurrect this thread I'll add in these, if I only had 3 albums these would be it:

1) The first synth album I ever heard, from then on I knew I wanted a Moog modular. I still do, but you know - that money thing.

Dick Hyman - Moog: the Electric Eclectics of Dick Hyman

2) The first synth album I ever bought. I had never heard of Larry Fast until I read a review of this album in Keyboard magazine and immediately went out and bought it. Still a favourite album.

Synergy - Sequencer

3) Another album that has stood up to time, and is my favourite from their works.

Tangerine Dream - Stratosfear

Ask me tomorrow and I’ll probably give you a different answer but...

Boards of Canada ‘Geogaddi’
Aphex Twin ‘Syro’
Edgard Varèse ‘Poème Électronique’

I’d have to include an Autechre, pick your favourite, that will do.

Squarepusher _ Feed me weird things

Doppler Effekt _ Gesamtkunstwerk

Analord (selections)

The albums I've probably played the most over the years: Music has the right to children, SAW I, Chiastic Slide, Lunatic Harness, 76:14, In Sides, Chroma, Head On (that first Super_Collider album is still soo good)...

Year Zero, This Is Happening, Fever Ray.

I have a digital version of Autobahn and would have listed the single, but there’s the other side to consider and that hasn’t stuck with me the same way so far.

Tangerine Dream - Rubycon. I first heard this when I was 14 and realised what it was to have your mind truly blown. A real epiphany.

Tomita - Snowflakes Are Dancing. First listened to one winter, as snowflakes were dancing outside the window. I fell in love with Debussy as a result.

Propaganda - A Secret Wish. Revitalised my interest in synthesizer music.

Honourable mentions...
Visage - Visage
Japan - Gentlemen Take Polaroids

Not sure if these are my all time favourites or not but def high on my list;

Aphex Twin Ambient Works 85-92
Bézier ‎– Telomeres
Air Liquide ‎– Air Liquide

Sometimes drifting more towards trancey rhythms but would still regard these as synth albums.

My three favourites that I can think of off the top of my head:

Autechre -- Quaristice (not many people's preferred Autechre album, but it's got a vibe that I love)

Aphex Twin -- Syro (I've always appreciated his music, but Syro was the first record of his that didn't make me feel kinda icky. And its synth production is amazing)

Oneohtrix Point Never -- Returnal (The best representation of Daniel Lopatin's sound)

I just wanted to mention a couple of albums which I really love from some fellow wigglers which I believe should be considered classics:

1) SB-SIX -- Trajectories and Tales from the Void (that's two separate albums)

2) Venetian Snares -- Traditional Synthesizer Music

I would say my #1 is Cluster’s Sowiesoso. It’s hard for me to be moved in a real emotional way by musix lacking vocals but Cluster’s work and oddly (in comparison) Astor Piazzolla’s gets me there.

I have to add Harmonia’s and Eno’s Tracks and Traces. I feel like Eno ruined Cluster a bit, he’s too much the focal point but with this album they really touched on something a bit more mysterious, and thankfully not about himself—but well, who knows what he even did on the album, but regardless it’s a great record.
