Huge fan of early 90s west coast rap music, most of it too rude to share unfortunately (homophobia and misogyny makes me cringe but it still sounds great apart from the real bad bits!)
Try and work out what he's saying here though -

I managed to include links to Youtube, which you haven't. I'm open-minded enough to give anything a listen, sure, but how many variations of potentially misspelled artists and/or song titles am I supposed to try before I get to listen to it? also, I merely pointed out that some of the songs you posted in this here 'exceptional rap' thread literally do not include (any) rap. as I mentioned above, the modeselektor track is an instrumental and does, by definition, not include any kind of vocals. the clams casino one is basically hazy reverb-y singing and samples thereof, so again, not rap. unless you were thinking of some other versions of said songs that actually feature rap in it, but based on your post that's hardly evident. I actually enjoyed these songs so it's unfortunate that you felt that trying to insult me as well as throwing swear words around would help your case or display my negative attitude, but good luck with yours! :tu:

Onyx....what’s next Biohazard?!

How can we forget the most sampled rapper in rap? I recall hearing “don’t cry dry your eyes, here comes your mother with those two little guys...” around 8 or 10 on the radio and always wondering about the narrative. Have not forgot those lyrics since.

“no matter how fine you grind the dead meat, you’ll not bring it to life again“

No negativity here. I was simply trying to show what I liked and was shot down. Which is typical. There are rap versions of them. However if you can’t find your own YouTube links and need to be spoon fed.... I’m not the guy to assist you.

Regardless, I hope people with the ability to do a search enjoys the tracks!

so you don't actually want to share whatever obscure versions of non-rap songs you are listening to, fine. though it is certainly quicker to post a youtube link than writing down the artist and song by hand (incorrectly and incompletely in your case), and if you listen to these versions so much, it really shouldn't be any kind of effort. and in regards to searching, pretty much every other post in this thread has links, but you insist on only listing songs that aren't normally rap, but then reveal that there are versions (featuring some other artist?) that we're now supposed to find in the rabbit hole that is youtube, without any clue as to what these versions may be. that's like listing Claude Debussy - Clair de lune and expecting me to find that one teenage quartet a cappella cover of it that you enjoy so much. besides, what youtube automatically spits at you because of your listening habits wouldn't necessarily come up for others that easily/at all so get off your high horse already. if you felt shot down, then it's not due to your taste but rather the inaccuracy of your post. music is typically meant to be shared.

I saw Clipping. mentioned a few time so no need to do it again. Not sure about Clouddead tho, very weird combo from the golden Anticon years.
They first album is a very weird mixture of ambient and rap.

While I never saw their Clouddead project live, I did see Themselves and Subtle a few times, and they were amazing. Doseone has almost as great of a stage presence as Prince. Incredible and even better live.

No disrespect to previous posters but most of the artists linked lead to believe you listened to hiphop 20+ years ago

no links, but google these dudes or just search spotify, sticking to newer stuff you guys probably havent heard:

Onyx(still active and dropped an amazing album last year)
Sean Price(died in 2015 but is one of the goats and also just dropped a new album with Fame from MOP)
Ruste Juxx
Rome Streetz
Roc Marcianno
Black Moon(90's act but just dropped a new album)
Smif n Wessun(also dropped a new album in 2019)
Cage
jakprogresso/jak tripper(goes by both names)
Cormega
Meyhem Lauren
Capone n Noreaga(90's act, but influential)
Tragedy Khadafi
Jedi Mind Tricks(not really a fan of later works myself, but first 4 are amazing)
Non Phixion
Snowgoons(production team out of Germany but works with the whos who - they produced several albums for Onyx including last years, Snowmads)
Thirstin Howl the 3rd
Uncle Murda

Off the top of my head. happy listening!

No mention of Griselda - probably the most i've been impressed in rap for a long time.

$uicideboy$ stirred the pot massively when they came out too:

also...the lgbt hiphop scene in NY is poppin, has been...is IMO all thats relevent come hiphop today...most everyone else is just happy pretending like its cool throwing back to dj premiere beats and adding nothing else...

this ish is crazy:

and finally - holy fff...sega bodega on the beat here - something absolutely bonkers...this is next level production imo:

Yes! Absense is a brilliant album. Abandoned Language and Gutter Tactics are too. It is probably cliched to say but dälek have never made a bad album. And that Faust collab was FIRE!!!!

I've been really digging Tyla Yaweh. This one is sort of like Pink Floyd meets rap, kick back and drift away...
