Most advanced sound designers thread.

Post by wuff_miggler » Tue Feb 25, 2020 12:43 am

OK...

so i was thinking of posting this on another music forum - but i sorta never did as most people would just give me some vanilla-arsed bullshit.
But purpose of this thread is to show off artists that really make you scratch your head with their brilliance. - when it comes to synths and sound design.

I'll kick things off...

Dave Tipper...absolutely one of the top super producers i can think of:

Qebrus (R.I.P) on Love Love Records - this is so bad ass:

...No props to Beaubourg? Could be used as a reference to what the CS-80 is REALLY capable of (besides being just 'that Blade Runner synth').

This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking to hear about :)

Recommend any definitive albums?

This is the perfect exemplar of where modern drum'n'bass is. I'm unsure why or how, but the entire dnb scene subconsciously migrated to the zenith of the cutting sonic edge.

^ not wrong!!

Thanks again for that mt3...really cannot understate how much i am digging this!!

to be honest though - most new dnb is not going in a RHYTHMIC NOISE direction.
i really wish it was though hahaha...there is way too much generic/well produced stuff that needs more roughness around the edges!

i find the lack of Arca & Rashad Becker disturbing in this thread :D.
Mutant, Xen and &&&&& from Arca
and
Traditional music of notional species vol.1 from R.B.

I scrolled now three times through the page and am suprised none wrote:

Uwe Schmidt aka Atom Heart aka Atom™ aka Señor Coconut aka aka aka

...and therefore with Raster Noton I'd name Ryoji Ikeda and many others.
