Maybe these aren't really in the same sort of categories as most of these, but...
I will always think Coil had some of the most innovative and advanced sound design ever. Insane pitched and glitched vocals, head-spinning panning, intense analog, digital, and synthetic manipulation of acoustic instruments, everything through filters and filters and filters and modulation. They also used a lot of music concrete and sound collage stuff too, which was then often sampled, processed and arranged more. Obviously very dynamic too, from more industrial-electronic to sublime 'moon music' drones to outrageous psychedelic fits and post-modern archaic techno magic
Also have to shout out Robert Rich for his sound design and crazy beautiful array of different styles and the worlds he implements it in.
Tim Hecker and Oneohrtrix Point Never could probably be given a mention for some of their works too, I think.
