I just ordered the Time Machines vinyl reissue from Dais Records (both red and grey, since clear was already sold out), can't wait to get them. I have the original black pressing from the original run from way back (and the CD as well), but want to have the new ones, remastered and all...

Anybody know whether these will be available from a European distributor? I live in Germany, and would like to avoid the horrid shipping costs (and tax) if possible. Haven't found anything so far.

Thanks - that's helpful. JPC has now listed the Time Machines CD, maybe they will carry the vinyl, too: https://www.jpc.de/jpcng/poprock/detail ... um/7790929

FWIW, in case anyone is interested, I noticed that (surprisingly) Time Machines is available for download on iTunes (in the US anyway, not sure about elsewhere). Not sure if it's the remastered version or not- copyright is 2017 Dais, but also shows a release year of 1998.

if you buy this through that bandcamp link, what is the resolution of the .wav and .aiff files?

just curious if part of that remaster is higher resolution files.

thanks.

The Dais Records web site has been updated to include the following sentence:

"1000 on Clear Orange vinyl were produced exclusively for UK/Europe territories and are available only in shops."

https://www.daisrecords.com/collections ... hines-2xlp

Norman Records in the UK already has the orange vinyl listed for preorder: https://www.normanrecords.com/records/167188

I'll probably cancel my US order of the red and grey vinyl and get an orange one from a store in Europe.

Lion Productions has reissued the original version of Astral Disaster on CD.
Released as limited ed of 600 with black cover and CD and 500 with gray.

The black one is still available from Old Europa Cafe (and other places I presume), their gray copies seem to be sold out already (they had them two weeks ago)

In an utterly bizarre (to me, at least) turn, there's a handful of Coil albums available now on eMusic.

Those have always been available on Spotify for some time.
Horse rotovator is a bit unexpected, I guess Some Bizzare is trying to squeeze some more money out of their back catalog. Though I thought that they had legally lost the rights to that release years ago.

Some of them, including the new Time Machines release seems to be available on iTunes as well.

And you can stlll buy some of them as downloads from Threshold House:

It's funny reading this message after less than a year, my favorite Coil album seems to have shifted to Ape of Naples. It's just an amazing album.

Also, to follow up, I started a thread for cover art on the Coil subreddit:

Some guy on eBay is selling a PDF scan of a handwritten letter from John Balance of Coil to Klaus, a German journalist for the ridiculous price of 15 euro. The letter contains the origins of Horse Rotorvator, assorted lyrics, and some fun tidbits such as he and Sleazy selling Gen the name Psychic TV for 2300 pounds which was never paid, or that John felt that Laibach didn't have a sense of humor.

Anyway, i bought one so that you don't have to and uploaded it to the Coil facebook group's files and put it up at the Internet Archive:

That Wormsongs thing that dropped last week (anniversary of John's death presents from the Live Coil Archives thingy) is pretty cool, not listened to all the others yet.

I guess for my 10th anniversary on muff's i'll do a Coil update.

For those that missed it (including me!) Thigps released Live Five, a limited cd with stickers of the soundboard record of the Gdansk, Poland show. It was sold out pretty much immediately, so he's going to be doing another run. He also did a run of shirts and art prints and such, and is all around still just a great guy, so go buy stuff from his shop, including his new record Practical Electronics, which is fucking awesome: https://www.thighpaulsandra.co.uk/

Also, there's this cool kid named Kiefer who popped up in the Coil circles a few years ago that's been working his ass off to create the ultimate Coil live archive, and it's really paid off...just about every show is represented at this point, and he's unearthed a lot of gems that would have gone missing without his project, including audio, images and video. http://live-coil-archive.com/

The remaining discs from the Threshold Archives are currently still in limbo. Everything's done, but the label handling it is i guess waiting, and i don't know why. Someday, maybe, who knows.

Danny has deemed it necessary to release a whole bunch of Backwards demos on vinyl, it's called the Swanyard Sessions. I don't know how i feel about it, honestly, but i did order one. https://www.soleilmoon.com/shop/coil-swanyard/

Drew's got a new record out, and it's fantastic, and he's been putting on killer shows and usually up for a chat afterwards. https://drewmcdowall.bandcamp.com/
