I used to have a roomate who waitressed there when I lived over on 4th and Alice (short walk away).
So I have to admit that the sushi, yakisoba and yakitori are pretty good there.
That place also has a totally sick sound system.
Saw Ahmad Jamal, McCoy Tyner and a bunch of other older jazz greats there back in the 90's. Mindblowing good sound. Like you can't even tell there is a PA.

Here's mine, it's 4U 96HP, full of hardcore DIY. I've finished it last summer, but haven't had much time to play it. I kinda regret not going 7U now, but wanted to keep it portable.

nicely built!
which quantizer are you using there?
and nobody is stopping you to build just another 4u case,
which probably would be the better choice regarding
your backbone, for carrying weight on both sides seems
to be preferable...

Thanks! That's a Penrose quantizer btw, I had like 4HP available, so I had to redesign the complete PCB.
Yeah, I might do another 4U, but my addiction is bad enough as it is right now :( :D .-.

galingong, that's perhaps the aesthetically tightest DIY setup I've maybe ever seen. Fantastic.

I'd consider it well-built and pretty usable, what you said might be a bit of an overstatement, but anyway, thank you for the kind words!

Aside from being well-built and pretty usable - which are two pretty great achievements - it is also simply beautiful to look at. You have made a lovely object!

at least from my perspective and from my experience neither the
addiction to eurorack/modular nor to building stuff on your own is in it self
a bad thing.

only the side effect of spending wast amounts of money on both of them
is bad and should only be a question of self-discipline...

(though there might be people who are addicted solely to spending
money on stylish phaenomena, which eurorack obviously became, most of them
will soon end up in selling their whole system...)

i once wondered whether i should quit eurorack and now i am happy
that i figured out the difference between my addiction which is absolutly justified and the side effect of spending more money than i can afford, which is obviously not justified at all...

You are totally right about this whole synth/euro/SDIY thing being a good and healthy hobby, and also about the money part.
But time - I run my own business, work whenever I want to. I tend to find myself working on a new module or tuning my subwoofer instead of doing actual work, which is not cool. Again, it's all about self-discipline.

Very impressive. :hail: Did you make that case also? It looks kind of like the Pittsburgh cases.

This was my performance rig for my last show

And the show itself:

This was only my third show and I know I've got a long way to go before I'm capable of doing just what I'd like, but I'm having fun regardless.

I've changed up the drum rack a little since, added a Voltage Block.

A beautiful case that Goiks built for me on the right, and the weird little rig i put together to run oud and kalimba through on the left.

I'm putting together a tiny battery powered rig for Microgranny, Kalimba, Kastle and PO-12.Image

Just a couple things right now. I'm working on more, but don't have much time for recording/playing right now.

The first track is a raw track right off the microgranny.

The second is mostly oud and guitar with microgranny. I know i have something with modular too, i'll try and post it next week.

pretty noise(y), love it.
in the second link i heard (an alternative) somebody shouting:
"pick up that phone, god dammit!"

:youkids:

i'd love to hear that modular, too....

And here's the modular by itself. This was meant to have other instrumentation, but i haven't had time yet.

A few pictures of some of my performance setups (scuse the quality – these are snapshots made for sentimental/technical reasons). Enjoy.
