That system looks pure evil. Gonna need to hear some demos in the appropriate forum/thread.

That is cool... I have an avatar question - what is your photo portraying?

And for the good wigglers on this thread, I'm just joining in, can you point me to any posts that are predominantly semi-modular? I'd like to see what most people do in such circumstances... Thanks in advance!

Neat - I could tell they were something war-like, but beyond that I was trying to connect something that looked like a horn to a howitzer.

Here's my live case. Three oscillators, five low pass gates / filters, two tubes, a noise source, a phaser and a BBD delay / flanger. 100% analog signal path.

This is my current setup. I change modules every once in a while with my main case so it changes some. I do noise and experimental stuff live. I have a contact mic, speaker, and small rubber mallets for use with the preamp/envelope follower. Also, there’s a contact mic built into the case so the metal Halliburton case picks up sounds that get processed too.

love the pics! i think its so important to be able to reach all your modules without getting neck cramps :)

its funny, i have everything jammed together without any space at all. it was like a hardcore puzzle and the modules couldn't be organised based on their function, because they wouldn't fit that way… must say i felt a bit stupid putting the stuff together (also some modules were much higher than described: looking at you doepfer and malekko :P)

but finally having everything so close together organised around my drum machine is ace! it feels like a real instrument. and i don't have problems with knobs and cables being too close together. its my 3rd iteration, i started with a 60hp case from moog and now i have 3 different cases

i always ask myself how these 2hp only racks are put together. it doesn't get inside my head how that would fit, with many 2hp modules having cables connected on one side of the module…

its my first summer and my apartment can get pretty hot, so im a bit worried. but all my cases are metal cases. i hope that will help a little…

This was my live case which I played out last year, the hermod gets midi from an Octatrack where most of the drums coming from, I record the metropolis in the Octatrack. Which works great and I also had a keyboard attached for more possibilities. I used it with guitar pedals reverb, delays and a master rnl compressor/limiter Octatrack went also through the wmd pm

Image

This year I am still waiting for my new case to arrive but, the live case got slightly bigger as I kind of want to play end of the year Eurorack only ;) picture will follow

I hope you don't mind me reposting from instagram. I really love your new rack. it speaks to me. such a beast. I would like to know more hear demos etc.. if you want to make a new thread for your case or your music I think we could all learn from it. the live show is probably a lot of fun.

I’m working on a palette case that’s controllable with drums.

Looks fun! Can you share a bit about how your live drumming integrates with this setup?

I see maybe a mic'd snare that is feeding ears to send gates off to Plaits (in a drum mode it looks like), and then some varying MD voltages are being sent to the Sample Drum (a CV in?) to control some FX? What's the 2nd Pico module to the right of Drum?

I’m still working out the most flexible/variable ways to control from minimal drum triggers, since I’d like to avoid the whole midi drum mess. Right now I just have one Ears which in this patch is clocking the x axis of the MD while Pam clocks the Y axis. This lets me basically trigger chord changes to an arpeggio in the MD. I can unplug pams (or eventually use another Ears with a Switchblade) to use the pad to advance single notes in order. The MD is sending notes to the micro Plaits and Sample Drum.

I’m using a ddrum trigger on a popcorn snare at the moment, and picked up a little mesh Alesis pad to go with a second Ears that’s on the way.

The Pico to the right of the Drums is a DSP that’s usually providing some 3hp dirt.

I've been putting this case together over the last year or so. Been practicing a lot the last few months to get to where I feel comfortable performing on it for long sets, and hoping to stream with it in the near future. There's still a few gaps in the case and I might change the Intuitive Quantiser for a Harmonaig but it's pretty much there 8-)

Impressive! I am really appreciating the number of Distings in there, FWIW. Any go-to modes / patches w/ those these days?

Thanks. Yes, I really like the flexibility of those guys.
Presently they are in use as: Two stereo filters, one oscillator, a random switch register, a quantizer. And the EX is just playing multisamples.
