I would like to know more about the Athena vco module. I cannot find any info at the amsynths site. Please upload some examples!
I already have the jupiter 6 filter which sounds amazing so I cant wait to listen to the new modules from Rob! Good job man!

Anyone bite the bullet on the Dual ADSR and/or Snow Filter?

I love the System 100 (101/102) filter and envelopes...
not so much the 100m from what I've gathered from online
research. More into the Nitzer Ebb/Depeche Mode sound.

All my rigs have "fancy" envelopes, so I'm missing the
traditional gate/performance style envelopes.

So, my questions for Any Old Iron:

1. What VCA type (Lin/Exp/Semi-Log) works best in combo
with the Dual ADSR? Or, what type did the System 100 use
for the audio mix?

2. Opinion of the filter? Does it track 1V/OCT decently?
Any sound-clips in existence?

I have one in transit from the UK (to US). Check the Euro this thread for some sounds (but not much). I don't have a decent video camera, but I will make some sounds and post them on my rather short sound cloud account when it arrives (hopefully this week but you never know the week before Xmas... it might take longer to make its way here to Minnesota).

I received my JP-8 VCF today to my delight......then depair. Unfortunately when plugged in it kills all the power rails in my case. And no, I didn't plug it in backwards, the module power socket is keyed and I plugged it into a uZeus which the keyed boxed connectors. I tried it with both my uZeus PSUs so it's definitely the module. I've checked it for any obvious shorts or suspect components but all looks well. I've already emailed Rob and I'm sure it will get sorted out quickly. Such a shame as it is a really nicely made module and I was dying to give it a go. Such is life.

You can't always trust the keyed sockets - might make sense to doublecheck that -v is -v and +v is +v. All it takes is a connector installed backwards to defeat the system...

I checked all that. There is a marking on the pcb denoting -12V which lines up with the red stripe on the connectors. I checked with my multimeter and there are no supply to ground or +12V to -12V shorts.

Have you changed the cable? Just a guess...

IÃ‚Â´ve also received my modules today. One LED of the Dual ADSR had slipped out of its housing, but that wasnÃ‚Â´t an issue. All three modules work fine here. Building quality is just superb.

The JP8-VCF sounds wonderful. The typical ROLAND-HiFi trademark sound. Despite the self oscillation it sounds very familiar (I have a JP-8 here as well). Having that sound in my modular now is just a dream coming true.

The Snow Fall VCF has balls! ItÃ‚Â´s a weapon in 3HE!! And twiddling with the QCV lets you forget the time. Spontaniously IÃ‚Â´d say that itÃ‚Â´s the best sounding filter module I have. A massive mangler that always sounds very musical. Definitely worth every Cent spent.

The Dual ADSR is a joy to work with. The faders make me "play" the envelope. Another JP-8 deja vu. I think IÃ‚Â´ll skip my A-140s and go for another one.
IÃ‚Â´m very satisfied. One of the best buy IÃ‚Â´ve done so far regarding modules.

Rob contacted me and he was pretty sure it was the power cable at fault, and it turns out it was.

I normally would have swapped it, but when I metered between the +12V, -12V and 0V rails with the cable connected and the module unpowered, I found no shorts so didn't want to proceed in case I made things worse. Rob is sending me a replacement cable.

And yes, the JP-8 filter sounds awesome! Also as XCenter says the dual ADSR is just made for 'playing'.

Hi, I am working on an ARP2500 replica during the summer, so only a few modules are in production, the 8109/8060/8012. I do plan to make some SnowFall Mark 4 filters in 2016 with EMS knobs...

Hi Rob, thanks. This is great news. One thing: When is your website's "notify me" feature going to work? I think a lot of us have left our emails on modules expecting to get in line for these, and then to read posts that others got theirs is kind of annoying. In the end there's no loss for you since you still make a module and someone buys it, but maybe you could consider a waiting list, preorder, something like that so this doesn't leave such a negative potential customer experience. Thanks for considering this feedback.

FYI - Two AM8044 SSM VCF VCA modules are (surprisingly) still in stock from earlier this month. I have one from the previous run myself and considering just about all AMSynths modules sell out in a day give or take its a bit of a surprise.
