MS-4 questions

Post by rozzbud » Wed Dec 04, 2013 7:55 am

hi,

is it a standalone midi to copperlan converter?

Can i go from a hardware 32ch midi sequencer to 2xms-4 to 2xms-812 without a computer?

And is it possible to sequential switch (like a seqsquared) the midi output without other modules?
Automate a midi ch to switch between 4 outputs on ms-812 for instance.

thanks

Hi rozzbud
Yes the MS-4 is also a MIDI in to CopperLan converter; like the AL-22, but with a single MIDI In.
Yes, with 2 MS4 or a single AL-22 and you have 32 MIDI Ch
About the seqsquared, it's not the same function, it's not possible to switch differents MIDI CH to differents output in real time

if i understand correctly i have to use copperlan manager on pc for al-22 whereas ms-4 comes with programs per midi channel.
So ms-4 needs no computer at all?

Yes and No, You need the computer to established they connections or programming the setting for the inputs CV.
After, for live and performance, you can use the MS-4 without computer.
