Kommander unit temperature?

Post by thorncore » Wed Apr 17, 2013 2:47 am

I just got my new Kommander and noticed it gets pretty warm/hot very quickly.
Is this usual?

I've got a new Kommander for a couple of days as well but I didn't notice that it gets hot (not even warm)...

just tested it again and within about 15 mins its pretty warm, hot would be an overstatement.

Yep, it is usual that the Kommander gets warm, I'd say slightly above hand-warm. There are big current limiting resistors for the IR leds inside that get pretty warm. Since the casing is so small and the inside is pretty full with components it also gets warm on the outside. It's nothing to worry about.

I wish that if the Kommander didnt detect any usage for a few hours that it would auto shutdown.

I accidently left it plugged in for 24 hours and i could've fried an egg on it by the time I realized :deadbanana:
