yes, the shipping price of 20 is a bit hefty for one unit. Thats why i went for 4 from the start, and there is the triple pack special at 150 ex VAT.
I'm hot for the LP1, to complement my strips.

I have made some quick videos of two LP1 with a very preliminary firmware on it and, risking being too enthusiastic, I think it is a revolutionary control device....
Three parameters on a finger is a lot.... Too bad that I don't have any quantizers in my little setup.......

I will publish something during the first days of August....

I just got a pair and they are really fun to play with!
My only issue is with the recording mode, it would be nice to have some way to slew from the last recorded value to the first. Right now it jumps from the last value back to the first and if you are not right back at your initial value, the sharp change is pretty apparent.

Hi there Morphic,
BLUE led's gone obsolete when we lanched the production (RED).... It' not a much widespread component (reverse gullwing PLCC) though we sticked to OMRON, that is a pretty solid manufacturer.
It seems that there are some second sources for blue and we are going to test them.
We really would like to have one prooduciton run per color :))))

This is not a precise statement. I've yet to measure the modules consumption but It should be not more than 100mA (all leds ON) on +12V and 5mA on -12V !
As soon as we return at work (here is holiday time) I'll measure all the modules and update the manuals!!!

Cheers!

What is the resolution of the output of the LS1? Is it ten steps only or are there steps between, and if so how many / what resolution?

Hi Lloyd,
resolution of the slider (either in 'play' or 'rec') is 128 steps!
Cheers!

Sorry, there are a couple videos on my YT channel (Davide Mancini) regarding the LS1 that shows pretty well the 'smoothness' of the output, especially when I simulate the classic theremin sound...

Cheers!

Thank you, that's plenty for 99% of my needs and the rest of the time I can slew a little to smooth.

Sorry I wrote it somewhere here but don't remember...
The DAC is a 9bit peripheral though the slider has a 128 positions resolution!

Ok, so technically if you mult these and output them on an ADDAC VCFilterbank you get that fancy EQ module from Buchla. You know, the one that records EQ fader movements.
