seqSquared problem

Post by catatemycaps » Mon Jan 13, 2014 2:27 am

I finally had time to build my two sympleSeqs and seqSquared (universal) and all went smoothly except for one thing...the 'clock in' led is
constantly on after power up in seqSquared even if there is nothing plugged in the 'clock in' socket.

I tried hunting the possible culprit down with schematics but to no avail.
Wiring is correct: one wire goes to the signal lug and the other to the ground lug and both to their corresponding pads on the pcb.
I also checked the orientation of components in the path (actually I checked orientation of all components while I was at it).

The 40106 can't be dead since I can advance in steps manually by pressing the step button.

I haven't tested the module in full yet but at least the editor mode works.

Oh, and another thing. Sequencer mode starts in step two on power up. I find that a bit strange, too.

All I can think of is that there is a short somewhere but where? I haven't been able to find it yet.

Any help would be appreciated.
