i kind of fancy one in my skiff, so that i can change its function on a regular basis, depending on the other modules i've selected at the time....but still not sure how well we'll get on

Mine just arrived today. I was using it as a Euclidean Sequencer clocked by Wogglebug and triggering a Maths, which resulted in 45 minutes of recording. So far, I've only tried about 4 patches. Each patch really is like having a new module. Having this next to my Z-DSP = :bacon:

I'm going to try porting over some of my chaos generating code from DrawJong and see what I can get.

I'm definitely interested, but feel a bit intimidated about programming it myself. How easy is it?

Without programming you'll already have days and days of fun !
As I have a small configuration (6U), tha Ardcore is awesome ! Each time I miss a module to achieve something, the huge library of sketches helped me find a solution !

i reckon it could replace things like the Noiesring, or Turing Machine quite easily

it's dead simple to program. if you've done any coding before you'll love it (well i do)

Really happy with mine as well, so many great sketches out there, whom are relatively easy to modify.

It uses a language almost identical to Processing, which is essentially a simplified version of Java. The hardest part would be audio programming, if you're not familiar with DSP. However, CV/clock programming is a cinch.

It's much, much easier than Z-DSP, which uses assembly. However, the Z-DSP is a lot better for effects. Ardcore is 8-bit, so you can use it for glitchy audio, but it shines with CV and clocking. They sit right next to each other in my portable 6U system.

I love my ardcores. I have two and the sequencers are so fun and useful. Great fucked up dirty oscillators and plenty of cv madness. Good times all around.

I don't mind that it's 8-bit. KRÃœNCHÂ¥ :fap:

I've made some sketches including a simple NoiseRing and extremely simple Rene.

I have been pondering this for a while, finally decided to order a PCB and DIY myself up and Ardcore. :bacon:

Ardcore "Analog Tracking Generator"/"Curve Re

Post by pedroflute » Tue Oct 29, 2013 7:18 pm

Hi there... Is there a sketch to reshape the curve-response of an incoming input CV? --à la NI Reaktor's Ctrl. Shaper 3 BP Event Processor &/or Oberheim Xpander's "Tracking Generator"?

http://www.musicsynthesizer.com/DIY/Gra ... ister.html

…Kinda "CV programmable Waveshaper" [please see description below taken from Reaktor's manual page 419]

THANKS!! God bless!!!

PS. [taken from NI's Reaktor's manual page 419]; "Event signal shaper with piecewise linear input/output curve and three fixed breakpoints. The output produced by linear interpolation between the given points.
• 100: Output value at In = 1 (100%).
• 75: Output value at the upper breakpoint at In = 0.75 (75%).
• 50: Output value at the middle breakpoint at In = 0.5 (50%).
• 25: Output value at the lower breakpoint at In = 0.25 (25%).
• 0: Output value at In = 0 (0%).
• In: Event input for the signal to be shaped
• Out: Event output for the shaped signal

BELOW FROM http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oberheim_Xpander
Tracking Generators - there are three tracking generators available for each voice. The tracking generator provides a mapping from a control source (e.g. key range on the keyboard, or volume pedal, or mod wheel) to a modified output, based on the user-defined settings of the generator.
