everything works except portamento

Post by sherwood » Tue Jan 21, 2020 11:27 am

hi friends! here's what I've done:

updated firmware to 1.26
entered config menu - blinking key transpose!
pressed 'speed fast' C2 and key 1 - (lowest C#) - no feedback? should there be?
pressed 'speed slow' C#2 and key 1
pressed key transpose to leave config - is there a 'save' button I'm missing?

after this, there's still no portamento with any mode/range combo.
I also tried the above with key 16.

am I missing something in the config?

if not, help troubleshooting!
which pin on the socket is the range switch on if we call the top left #1? or where would be better to look for it?

thanks!

I am very puzzled it is not working. Normally it works out of the box, without you having to adjust any settings.
Normally you just use the RANGE switch of the ARP to select between the portamento speeds.
I of course assume you did try that switch.

I wonder if the RANGE switch is working at all in your Juno? if you turn on the ARP, can you select the range (1 Octave, 2 octave, full)?

I suggest you perform a firmware reset (uppermost key in the config menu) and try from here.
