Ray Wilson's original 'Monster Synth'

Post by synthcube » Thu Mar 25, 2021 9:27 am

This is Ray Wilson's Music From Outer Space 'Monster Synth'- it's been in the safekeeping of Debra Wilson (the 'Maiden of MFOS') at the original MFOS HQ in Parker, CO -- and we are happy to report that it's made it's way safely to our shop here in Bedford, MA .

Once COVID allows it, we will be re-opening the brick-and-mortar shop and will have the MFOS 'Monster' here for your viewing pleasure. We hope that you'll come visit us when you can, and check out this amazing piece of synth history !

Can you do a diagram of the modules for us?
Call me old-fashioned, but I like a dump to be as memorable as it devastating.

I recall seeing this up on some sort of an auction house although the promotion was from many years ago.

I think it is magnificent that you have acquired this and it is accessible (at least to view) by the public.

I wonder if you have any plans to let qualified talent to play upon it, maybe to live stream the performances?

you are way ahead of us-- yes, in fact, that is the plan... what we are hoping for is that a few enthusiasts would be willing to come in from time to time to play---- that was part of Debra's expectation too, as she said something like 'it was built to be played not watched'-- and we love the idea of live streaming :)

Thanks!!

This teared me up a bit. I miss Ray and even though I only got 4 maybe 5 minutes of his time some 15 years ago it's what lead me into this rabbit hole. Sadly I lost much of my mofos builds in a studio fire a few years ago. If I can ever make it up there I would love a crack at patching this monster.

Thank you Ray we miss you.
