VC REVERB 4/2016 variance in PCB layout vs. docs ?

Post by johnstilton » Thu Jul 04, 2019 3:11 pm

I have started to populate my VC Reverb PCB and I have observed that the layout around U1 have many variances compared to the documentation.

R39, R40, C27 are not on my board and I have a zener in place of D4.

My PCB is revision April 2016 just like the documentation.

Should I modify my build to match the prints, or does anyone have other recommendations?

From the colour of the board I assume you purchased it from Soundtronics in the UK. If you go back to their website and take another look at the page for the MFOS VC Reverb Module,

https://www.soundtronics.co.uk/mfos-vc- ... e-pcb.html

and scroll down, you will find an Erratum section where they provide an explanation for the changes you have observed and how to correctly populate the PCB.

If you still have queries I have found the staff at Soundtronics to be very helpful so you can always contact them direct.

Hope this helps

Thank you so much for your reply! I bought all of my MFOS PCBs from Synthcube which does not have that addendum on their page.

Side note: makes me sad that I am working on the last design of Ray’s.

Anyone know if his eight cabinet Modular went up on auction and/or where it is now?
