New Jason R. Butcher Bandpass Filter

I'm very excited to get the new JRB MM Bandpass Filter. As always build-quality is extraordinary and the module is simply beautiful. Jason is very responsive to the needs of those many of us who enjoy the fruits of his labor; this filter is the result!...add this to his equalizer, thumbstick, reverb, and ring-mod and I've got a good case of the "blues."

jason does it right..

not trying to fool anyone and bringing the sound/functionality to those in need with style.. i'd go so far to say as more style than the originals!

I would love to see some more orignal designs but this is about as good as cloning gets in my opinion
Votek_Mendo
Hom much for this one?

I really appreciate the craftsmanship of Jason's work and that there's no confusing it with a vintage unit. In addition to sounding great, it doesn't hurt that his esthetic is awesome-o!

for a noob to buchla like me where would I acquire something like this? I found a website but it wasn't very clear about modules. that does look pretty bad ass

not to thread jack but where do you get those little knob-hats like the one on the fine tune knob? (or whatever it is)?
ether^ra
...a very reasonable $400!...like myself, Jason is a visual artist, so he brings that sensibility to his modules certainly. In this case beautiful devices=dystopian cacophony!!!

Well yes, as far as filters for 200 were concerned i was hoping for something that stepped out of the crowded bandpass space already inhabited by 200e.
Having said that, the module looks great and I'm very happy with my previous JRR purchase, so will probably pick this up.
Also, very happy that several people keep bringing new products to the MM format. thumbs up

I've only every heard great things about Jasons stuff.

Looks fantastic - like a mini 258v.

Please upload a demo - would love to hear.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.
To answer a few of the questions:

Yes, these are vactrol based, and all original type parts were used - metal can ICs, original JFET pairs, and original filter caps.

I don't have any extra trimmer knobs. These are slightly different (they have skirts) and were dogeared for another project.

Thanks to John also, for spurring me to build a few of these. For those that aren't aware, the upper frequency isn't as limited as it is with the 291e. Originally I had suggested John go for a 267e until I realized it might not satisfy his ear.

I have one too, and it's so nice to get away from the Triple Morphing Filter once an a while.
