The repeat switch disables the Decay and Sustain and turns it into a repeated AR. The sustain does have a small effect. Turning it up will flat top the decay to Release peak. With it down, the Attack has a definite "poppy" peak before it goes into the Decay stage.

On a side note, the repeat is different. The repeat level applies an increasing DC voltage to the repeat function which kicks it back into the attack stage at that level without dropping all the way back to 0. So the attack and release ratios remain constant while the cycle speed increases because the voltage swings don't have as far to go.
