It's not so easy to turn the Z knob when you put 2 distings next to each other - so there is still space in your life for other modules.

Or just more space in between your Distings

The disting has limited RAM. You can load a maximum of 29000 sample frames, so that's 29000/2048=14 waveforms at a wavelength of 2048.

If you want more waveforms, use shorter waves.

There are some nice (600 wavelength) wavetables here:
https://www.adventurekid.se/akrt/waveforms/

Those are the ones I was using and some of the bigger tables have more than 100 waves, of which I only seemed to see the first 48. But if you divide 600 into 29000, there you go.

I love it when things make sense! nanners

Thanks os. Another awesome update.

The only problem now is if I want to modulate the wavetable with an LFO wavetable, I might need yet another disting.

Is anyone else getting nothing but silence and the odd fart from the wavetable?

That's what it sounds like outside my headphones. hihi

Anyone know where in the US to pick up a MIDI expander for the Disting?

I had a few issues to start with erm actually hours and hours of farts and K1 cycling around endless reboots. Encoder going from -10 to + 10 only. Switching on/off. Tried loads of diff SD cards.......ect.

Eventually sussed 100+ wavs too much for the dear old Disting.

Success with using the folder method described by OS as long as the wav count+sample size is below what the Disting can handle.

No luck with the cocantenated file method though which is a shame as I'm really really liking wavetable noise hihi

So does anyone have the playlists created for all of the adventure kid waveforms, or maybe a script to create them?

Thanks.

Probably would be easier to get the parts yourself and DIY it - once you match the pins with the disting it should work. I'm planning to have MIDI ports put into the side of my case and then wired into the disting.

Nice idea cool

I used a LibreOffice spreadsheet to half-automate it.
geremyf
Oh yeah that would work duh. Thx.

They're starting to ship this week. Kits available from Thonk.

Finally making noise thanks to the guys on this thread:

http://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=184787&sid=5a5364caba 9222012f5b75558e177d31

...and trying a different card. You'd think the one I used to flash the firmware would be OK, but apparently not. seriously, i just don't get it

I found that if the playlist is missing the header the disting crashes and reboots.

echo "disting playlist v1" > playlist.txt ; ls *.wav >> playlist.txt

EDIT: I wrote a script against the AKWF package. I have not tested the full package. At work now. I can submit to AKWF.

Just updated to the newest firmware that gives it the Wavetable VCO.

Not sure if I want to make my own wavetables, where would I find some? Anyone have a good source for free wavetables that will work with the Disting?

thx in advance fam

The post above your own provides a download link to a disting-ready version.

For anyone using the Wavetable VCO, I just released v4.2.2 with a small improvement. I'd be grateful if you'd check it works for you:

I would love too! Know when stores will be getting more stock? They are selling like hot cakes it would seem.

Or just place every second Disting upside down!

Much better. It was really difficult to scroll through the tables before.

It's the Wavetable VCO coming to the Disting MK3 in a future update?
os
That's the plan.

Will the midi kits be available from regular UK disting distributors?
