If you want music that is purposely recorded like trash for some infantile aesthetic reason you can't go wrong with LIES - https://liesrecords.com/

Beau Wanzer is another culprit of this nonsense - https://www.discogs.com/artist/1158595-Beau-Wanzer

TRAM Planet has a few things in this vein as well
https://soundcloud.com/tram-planet-records

Less techno more EBM/Leftfield/Acid
https://www.discogs.com/label/88141-Nation
tetno: https://soundcloud.com/richard-holhburn
Goiks: A eurorack setup is a contemporary folk instrument. Relatively accessible and portable. Largely by, of and for the people.

...or its just recorded that way because some people like that?

Why we prefer a certain type of sound can be quite complex. I think partially why i like distortion or "shitty" sound is because when i was a kid i used to listen a lot to tape live recordings (not professional ones).. So i have very fond memories of Front 242, a;Grumh, Skinny Puppy and Tear Garden live recordings, which yes, sounded like crap. it probably also made it easier for me to get into noise and industrial music later on..

Our very own beloved Nelson Baboon had some stuff you might like. His catalog is vast to say the least:

When I think of noise in actual techno (or techno/noise?) the first artist that comes to mind is SNTS:

Less techno but also amazing:

My biggest recommendation for noise/techno would be Alberich. This album is fantastic:

Also Emptyset for sure. The s/t album is more techno, but their abstract stuff is more interesting imo:

And Converter. Maybe a little dated aesthetically, but I still think it's great:

i made some noise with a techno beat a while back, like industrial techno with air conditioning hum & screeching feedback added on top, hah. i really liked the way it sounds, there's some people doing the same thing I guess but it was pretty original. i'll likely refine it more and maybe put out a tape at some point.

should have mentioned above, if you're into this stuff, look into "Bloody Fist Records". sort of like the Australian incarnation of what happens when a bunch of bored teenagers living next to steelworks do in their free time, exponents of this label:

Terrornoize Industries (euro label) is off the chain for newer speedcore,

Puppy Tapes is like the Noisiest part of Bank Records but slightly more extreme.
Some smooth sounds for this panel's ears:
