The BoB Bass!

Post by MachineHum » Tue Oct 15, 2019 6:35 pm

Hi, we are “Makers who make music” (MMM).

A while back we made a thread about our drum, which got us really stoked to build the thing and continue our community interaction. Here’s an update on that project: github, audio, video. It's called the Bob Bass (bass pronounced as the fish would be) because once me and Derek were cruising modular grid and an 808 Bass showed up. The 8's looked like B's and the rest was history!

We want to focus on areas that grow the open source synth community, so we’ve put together a little survey. After the survey period is over we will be selecting three entries at random and giving away drums, all we ask in return is one line of feedback! If we receive positive feedback from the drums, we will most likely be selling some, enter your email in the survey if that is of interest! We have already gotten several entries and plan on sharing the data with the community after the survey period is over. (Emails will not be shared and data will be anonymised)

Oh, and yeah that's Bob the builder on the front, once we get the cease and desist order we've made it.

Bye for now :P

Still waiting on those 20$ modules ;)

Glad to see this isn't just vapourware. Gratz, dude.

Filled out your survey and provided my email.

Do you have any plans of offering pcb&panel sets for this? Because I’d def take one. Much less interested (honestly not at all interested) in ordering from gerber files.

Lol I knew that it was going to regret that... Although we ended up costing it out and I think our break even was decently close to the 20$, so it's certainly might be possible. I'll let you know if we end up letting some go.

Probably in the future, we're really want to ensure we only make good quality stuff. It's still unclear if we're going to kit them or sell built modules.

I completed the survey and hats of to Ryan at MMTMM for sending me a Bob Bass all the way to Thailand. Its a great module and am happy to have it in my rack. I made a video with some sound examples....
