2 year DIY-anniversary. You make a module here and there and they add up over time.

Hi All,

Haven't posted a lot here but have been reading for year's. Love euroracks and build a few even before I had a rack to put them in.

I build this rack to put in a Ivar Ikea cabinet. It fit's just in between a 80cm long ivar. (50cm or 30cm deep).

The modules aren't all done. The hihat needs calabration and the snare/clap some rework/testing. (Blew up the clap's capacitor mounting it the wrong way ;) ).

But here the pic's. I made pic's of the build also so maybe one day there will be a instrutable manual.

All the red is sensory overload!

And wait! There's room for more!

Help Mister Wizard (probably have to be old to understand that)!

Looking good.

Here's My very recently resurrected Frakrac box, it came without a power supply and it was held together on some euro-rack rails with wood-screws.Box, rails and power supply are DIY! As far as I can tell, the EFM filter and Blacet VCA are working, I haven't powered the double stacked psycho LFO, and the Dark star chaos is not happy, The pitch is stuck in the top octave range. Its a Project!

Hi guys, I'm new here and here's my DIY modular thing :

Image

I have to say this forum has been very helpful to build all of this mess.
There's 1 white noise source, 2 VCOs (from LMNC), 2 low-pass filter (LMNC filter and Tim Escobedo's MS20), 1 AR (LMNC), 1 double ADSR (my own design, based on schmitzbits), 1 double LFO (simple design based on TL072), 1 VCA, 1 3xway active mixer, 1 sequencer (CD4017) and 1 arpeggiator module based on a arduino that I conceived myself.

A video of all those bleeps :

It's really early days, in fact I didn't even believe myself capable of producing workable electronics until a couple of weeks ago. Now I HAZ OPEN THEREMIN. Nothing can stop me.

So this is my DIY setup. It's the earliest iteration of Bookcase Format.

Bookcase is an improvisational Modular format where you buy a cheap second hand bookcase with variable pitch shelving, then improvise a pitch that will accommodate the kind of module you feel comfortable building.
IMG_20200115_124844778.jpg
And then you dismantle it and put the bits into your bedroom studio. I couldn't upload that picture for some reason, but pretend you can see a heap of matchwood synthesiser case components awaiting assembly in a bedroom highly advanced state-of-the-art sound production studio.

I'm eschewing rails and whatnot, and as discussed elsewhere I like big knobs and big jacks (but enough about my sexual tastes.) I'm going to build a couple of Kosmo modules from Look Mum No Computer so I will have a VCO and LFO, and then I expect to improvise a bit.

This is what passes for my DIY space, until I get more of my studio cleaned out, and set up the other desk.

Nice setup!

By chance would you mind sharing where you got those knobs used on quarks? Not liking the mini befaco ones on mine at the moment.

What kind of psu are you using? Are you running all modules on 5v?

as i wrote, seismic ips2.. http://seismic.industries/ips2/

nice little psu, although the layout could be better for in-case mounting. Maybe i will make some similar later with different layout.
with these modules i measured current around 1,7A from the usb, so it can run quite long time with this 20ah bank.
