303 Style Filter Envelope Accent

Post by c0rpse » Sat Jan 11, 2020 11:43 am

Mult your filter envelope to a CVable switch or VCA. Run the output of the switch or VCA to a slew. Attenuate the output of the slew and sum with the filter envelope. Triggering the VCA/Switch is your "Accent Enable", the attenuator on the output of the slew is "Accent Amount". The shaping/rate on the slew will change the character of the accent.

This patch is cool because multiple sequential accents or different gate lengths push the expression of the accent deeper, similar to the "rising scream" of a 303.

This is great! Thanks for sharing! I've never had a 303, so I'm not totally sure I'd recognize the rising scream, but there is so much expression in playing with the slew times and the depths of original envelope and accent envelope!

Thank you very much! I’m going to play with this today!

I use 0-Coast midi B gate in "Velocity over 50%" mode, then I send that gate to either the Slope circuit in 0-Coast or to the Ping input in my MD SSF MMF ping input, not exactly 303 instant fun and quite acid too..
