MIDI out would be great. I guess it's just a question of time. Meanwhile, the Rozeta AU plugin suite (a collection of MIDI generators) can be used as a modular MIDI out. Actually all sequencers and MIDI generator apps can be combined together in a host app like Audiobus, Apematrix, and AUM as a modular MIDI out.

For those who don't know, AU plugin apps can be moved around in their own windows, resized, etc. Just like desktop plugins. MIDI can be routed in and out of those AU plugins, also between different physical devices.

Having just inherited my wife’s old iPad, I’ve bought miRack initially to try out the Macro Oscillator modules...

However, I’ve noticed there seems to be very little in the way of VA filter modules, only Stairway?

Hello,
first post, joined muffs after all these years because I downloaded MiRack

Looking forward to asking a lot of dumb questions from you all from now on :hihi:

My first mission in modular is learning all the Mutable modules ported to MiRack, and working my way up from there. All the MI stuff is just so beautifully engineered and designed, and the documentation is excellent compared to the more esoteric stuff and plain looking ASDR modules that dont even have their parameters scaled properly :hmm:

I got decades of experience with prewired and semimodular synths but all this multiplexing, attenuverting and signal twisting is feeling a bit overwhelming right now..

cheers

so keep it simple and let the substance shine through. mirack will definitely let you come back to whatever you started, youve got time. ive only scratched the surface of what mirack can do. mirack was useful the moment i began. 500 modules is a lot!

Thanks!
Currently I am researching routing logic, 2:1 4:1 etc switches with a MIDI mappable button. I am mainly "misusing" modular at the moment, using it to build custom synths with intricate MIDI control. I did have a go at making my first "proper" modular patch, and it turned really messy, was spamming modules left and right, building a song from clocked pings triggering samples.. but things got too complex fast and I lost control of the patch LOL! So I'm not in a rush to using modular in a "system as a song" context just yet, building custom synths is much easier and yields immediately usable results.

Clocking and routing / signal processing logic is the biggest new thing to tackle. I'm starting to see the benefit in using "debugging" modules for learning these properly, hard to debug without them when something goes wrong.

I’m thinking of getting an Es-9 to integrate to eurorack.

Anyone using mirack with an ES-9 / iPad Pro USB-3? Is it fairly simple? (A quick search on web hasn’t revealed anything)

Just a FYI, MiRack was just updated with AUV3 support! You can load it in an instruments, effects and apparently even midi effects slot. Very impressive CPU efficiency with multiple instances on my 2018 iPad Pro

Drambo and MiRack AUV3 are like a game changer for this platform imo

Hey guys, miRack developer here and I'm ready to answer your questions from now on, should you have any.

And first to answer the question I'm getting the most often - yes, MIDI out and multichannel support are the first things on the todo list now!

Can you make multi outputs (8+) for controlling an external harware modular?
Is the iPad mini 2 power enough for one MI Plaits and four LFOs?

Welcome to the forum! And great news on multichannel support - the rate of enhancements on mirack is impressive.

I think i asked on the audiobus forum, as it is now can it send voltages to a modular with a dc interface (ala expert sleepers)
Cheers!

As I said, multichannel output is coming soon, currently it's stereo only.

Sorry I don't know. The oldest device I'm testing on is iPhone 6 which is enough but iPad Mini 2 is a bit older.

A few people tried miRack with ES-8 and it worked fine for them with the two channels miRack currently has.

I’m pretty sure it’ll run it just fine .. I started my iOS journey a few years ago on an A7 powered iOS device and it’s powerful enough to still be very usable in music production, especially with something as efficient as MiRack.

I just tested your config out on my current ipad, but instead of just 4 lfos and plaits, i loaded all 18 mutable instruments modules and quickly threw together a random patch. 5% cpu utilization according to AUM, barely spiking past 6 ... Judging by the benchmarks of the A7 in your iPad Mini 2 vs my a12 series cpu, I’d be surprised if you tick over 35% utilization with all the mutable + basic lfos.

That's awesome! I'm really excited to control my modular with a miRack sequencer through my FH-2! Let me know if I can help in any way!

miRack as an AUv3 is amazing. I find myself using it a lot more now. As my main workspace is AUM. So nice to be able to add quality reverbs like an Eventide or delays like RE-1.

iOS have been on fire recently with this and stuff like Drambo. Great work mifki.

My only wishlist at this point (besides Multi Out) would be more filters.
