I have to say, This is the most fun I’ve had in a while. I’ve got a room full of killer gear and somehow this thing just puts a smile on my face. Partly, I feel, it’s nostalgia, and partly due to it being so bloody easy. I hadn’t programmed a 303 in 20 years and I remember it being an epic pain to learn. Once I got my fingers on this thing though, I had it back in about 10 minutes. Is such an archaic way to program, you never forget!!

Are their any instructional videos or articles on programming the sequencer, because the few videos I've found online dedicated to programming the td3 are some what lacking. Also the 303s original manual is, like most roland documentation from that era, terribly written. I've figured out how to clear a pattern and input notes easily enough, there just doesnt seem to be any mention of how to change note length, add rests, etc in any of the videos I've watched.

Thanks I some how overlooked this video since I assumed it was just a review. Its much better than the tutorial video that I had watched previously.

Behringer TD-3 vs Korg Monologue

Post by Sweetfiltersweep » Mon Jun 08, 2020 4:48 am

I have learned a lot about the TD-3 comparing it with other monosynths:

Oo that video is irritating. I wish that they were even approximately volume-matched.

They are indeed, as explained in the video description. Volume-matched at the beginning with single notes, the clip reflects the changes in volume when changing parameters. I did so on purpose. The filter and resonance on the Monologue reacts very differently and you have to tame it. This is exactly what you hear in the comparison. I wanted to show the differences as you found them, not politely recorded. I understand your criticism, though.

Of course, I totally didn't skip around in the video without watching it all. Ahem.

FYI the gate output is missing a pulldown resistor so it may not trigger all modules reliably. If you do any mods make sure you add a 100k resistor from the gate out to ground.

Is track mode just broken on this or is it a known issue fixed in an update? Asking before I spend all day tearing my hair out trying to get their software to work.
Before anyone goes there: yes I know how a 303 sequencer works, been using it for 20 years. 8-)
