Hi there,
I am currently using the beatstep for a basic sequencer and was just wondering if anyone else out there might have some tips and tricks for using this (especially reprograming the gate - seems to fire every 4th beat of 16). The manual is of zero help (since arturia seems to see the basic beatstep as a soft synth controller only) that I can see, but I haven't looked at the one for the pro yet (its "swiss army knife" approach might give me more info??).

Make sure you have the latest firmware. You can change the gate time in the Arturia software and it looks like from the unit itself as well:
V 1.1.0.0
New Features
Provide additional settings locally. There is now a way to set up some parameters directly on the unit while in SEQ mode. Shift + Knob 1: set gate time (50%..99%) Shift + Knob 2: set swing (50%..75%) Shift + Knob 3: set legato mode (off/on/on reset)
