Vectorscope Troubling a Noob

Post by DrenselQuad » Thu Oct 15, 2020 7:06 pm

Hello,

Before I begin any help and or advice is greatly appreciated.

I recently found a vectorscope at an old electronic market and decided to take advantage. My goal was to create and experiment with signals from my eurorack.

I found a Leader LVS-58508 NTSC vectorscope. I ordered BNC to 1/8" cords and connected them to my rack. Unfortunately nothing.
My diagnosis(knowing about nothing) was that...
- the input signal to the X and Y inputs was too weak
- I did not do enough research on what I bought.
- the vectorscope is may just have a issue

Has anybody found success with this configuration? Any tips generally speaking

Ill post the routing if that helps.

Thanks, again

Unfortunately despite the name a vectorscope is not an X/Y display, so not suitable for your intended purpose

Not sure what you about the device: it was primarily used to observe color bars - those colors should end up on the targets. You can also view the color information for various purposes. With normal video, the display is generally really boring. However, if you have extremely chroma saturated video, it will look interesting.
