SUPERCELL - Dumb Question of the Day

Post by MoogCloud » Fri Oct 16, 2020 10:49 am

The complexities of matching a new hardware platform (Supercell) to a new software platform ("SuperParasites") are mind boggling as I contemplate this serious series of enhancements to the original Mutable Instruments Clouds module.

My attempts to cobble together bits and pieces from the Clouds manual and the SuperParasites information has left me unable to find one of the simplest things. While I have impressive documentation of all of the firmware choices and how to manipulate them, I have found no documented way to change modes.
On the original Clouds module the alternative modes were available by pressing the "B" button for five seconds until a green LED glowed orange. Then you would repeatedly press the button until one of four modes was chosen.

There is no "B" button on the Supercell, and no orange LED that I can find (perhaps the yellow LED is actually orange?)

So my question is simply this. What is the correct way to access the other modes on the Supercell?
Thanks for your time. :guinness:

Hold time button for few seconds and then cycle through.

From the manual:
"Hold the TIME switch to see which mode is currently active and tap TIME to select a new mode. If the default Supercell firmware is installed, the 1/2/4/8 LEDs will correspond to the Granular Processor, Pitch Shifter, Looping Delay, and Spectral Madness modes from Clouds, respectively. To exit without changing modes, wait five seconds and the mode selection process will automatically exit. The LED of the selected mode will blink ten times before selection is canceled."

Ah, that makes sense. I missed this somehow. Thanks!

I'm guessing that with SuperParasites firmware the lights will be different for modes 5-8?

That chart with the lights proves that SuperParasites was not installed on this module. So, that's my next step to upgrade the firmware.
Thanks for that help! :yay:
