EDIT: ZIMM01 is now available at Zerosum Inertia and Escapefromnoise: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=62205&highlight=

Tubes entered my Buchla 200e.

Zerosum Inertia's ModuleModules ZIMM01 (VCA/Preamp) and (ZIMM02 VCF) let the Buchla growl and scream.

Got them today and made a little track:

The first 1:30 are recorded dry without any FX!

Thanks Brian for a lot of fun!

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Edit: I'll post the additional tracks in the first message, too!

2nd Track "KrautDoom":

The soundcloud contains all infos on the patches!

Never heard about these before now.
Were they a custom order, or were they announced on the forum?
I would certainly be interested!

The original thread is hidden in the subforums:
https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=50017

Mine are the first two built!

If you have questions, just ask them here or there, i guess Brian/zerosum will answer them everywhere on the forum! Or maybe i can help, too!
chrisso
OK, thanks.
I rarely stray out of the Buchla/Serge forum.
weinglas
You're welcome Chugging Beers
And because of this, i opened one thread in the Zerosum subforum and this one here (with different info... lol )

You can find another picture in this thread:
https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=58825

BTW: The tubes are shorter than the knobs, so they fit in a foldable case.

Weinglas + Brian: AWESOME STUFF!

Thanks a lot!

BTW: The track was made with only a 260e, 281e, and the two Zerosum Inertia modulemodules. And there is no FM of the 260e happening. Just the audio out A and B of the Oscillators to the audio in of the ZI modulemodules. The Tube VCA was modulated with a very fast signal from the 281e, the Tube Vcf with another 281e channel. And some manual knob action. That's the patch!
weinglas
After getting to know my new tube modulemodules a lot better i made this new track:

[s]http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/krautdoom[/s]
Link: http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/krautdoom

What you hear is one Buchla 260e going through ZIMM01 and then through ZIMM02. Together they play the Organ Dead Banana! And then there will be Doom SlayerBadger! twisted headbang
7thDanSound
Thanks for posting! And reminding me of the first track. Love these, great work!
batchas
Both tracks are very special: GREAT!
You are trully inspired with these ZIMMs.
richard
Do they do subtle, or are they more intended to be sound fuckery modules?
weinglas
richard wrote:

They are subtle (as the first track shows), but the ZIMM01 VCA can deliver a lot of gain to overdrive the following input! So if you want sound fuckery, patch the "out" of the ZIMM01 to the "in" of the ZIMM02 VCF!

@all: Thanks for your kind words screaming goo yo
Pfurmel
Wow! I love the second track. Those tube modules sound like huge fun.

They are not designed to be sound fucker upper modules,
They make everything sound better not worse
I'm saying that half serious and half tongue in cheek wink

There isn't any feedback or clipping, these aren't mini agonizers,
they are little "magic sauces" lol
although the ZIMM02 will pierce your eardrums at high resonance woah

awesome indeed and very rich! thumbs up applause w00t

seems like an inspired module. I miss a bit of grunt in the 200e generally and this really seems to hang some balls on it

You can achieve a bit of overdrive and grunt with the 291e. But the tubes sound different, less aggressive, more warm! These are really great work from Brian!

Thanks guys! Small Buchla systems can be as much fun as big systems. SlayerBadger!
And it is not all about the tubes, but they'll help twisted
weinglas
I made one more track with the fabulous Zerosum Inertia ModuleModules: a little bit of Noisy Jazz in Jungle!

This time there are only the two ZIMM Tube Modulemodules, an Eardrill d-lfo and a 281e with some heavy audiomodulation involved.

Are you using the 281e "OR" outputs?
Or are you using the individual generator outputs?

Thanks my friend!

zerosum wrote:

I only used two individual "generator" outs of the 281e. One at audio frequency, one at LFO frequency. Both crossmodulating each other. The output of the audio frequency one goes to your VCA and than to your VCF. That is responsible for the jazzy melody! The d-lfos are modulating the CVs of the ZIMMs. And they are also crossmodulating each other.

Now I want that exact same setup! d'oh! lol
Really I just want that 260e.
That thing seems really cool,
Pulse generator, dual pitch generator, EQ, 1 module MY ASS IS BLEEDING

I can stare at that picture all day, there is a lot of fun patches to be made with that.
weinglas
Thanks a lot guys!

260e is a cool module, but you have to like organs! And it cannot play basslines, and the shepard generator pops, and .... In the end, i love it and it is the perfect company for your ZIMMs love

For those who do not look in other Subforums, here is awesome news: ZIMM01 is now available at Zerosum Inertia and Escapefromnoise!
