Small Buchla with SpringReverbPedals (ONE MORE NEW TRACK)

With Eurorack I love my Doepfer Spring Reverb. I even have three different tanks. Now with Buchla i want to explore these sonic possibilities, too. But i do not want to buy an big and expensive 19 inch solution (nor the moisturizer or a digital FX, although the Reverb ModuleModule keeps me thinking hihi ).

So i first bought a "Danelectro Spring King" and connected it to my little Buchla 2 Space box with a 260e and a ModuleModule with Zerosum Inertia Tube VCF and VCA, and an eardrill QuadVCA and d.lfo, as it can be seen and heard in this thread.

The result is this little track:

Link: http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/the-kings-of-spring-for-58

To get the real spring reverb sound heavy attenuation of the Buchla audio signal was necessary! But there are no other FX than the Spring King and something to widen the Mono Signal to Stereo!

Spoiler: The next track, which i will be doing, will feature a Vanamp Solemate.

EDIT:
2nd track - this time with Vanamps Sole-Mate - for direct comparison added:

Link: http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/tubes-in-wonderful-stereo

EDIT:
3rd track - A drone with Spring King through FX send of a mixer:
[s]http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/church-of-wine-in-spring[/s]
Link: http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/church-of-wine-in-spring

EDIT:
4th track - Solemate through FX send of a mixer:
[s]http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/church-of-wine-in-spring-part[/s]
Link: http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/church-of-wine-in-spring-part

EDIT:
5th track - as above but with rhythm screaming goo yo

Thanks as always Adam!
Oh yeah, i love that this little one can rock and drone like a big setup!

And I love to test those little Spring Reverb Pedals. Need to find an easier method of signal matching, though, maybe a reamp. I wanted to avoid a mixer, but maybe this would be the perfect solution, or i will just get one of those little blue MMs.

Anyway: Stay tuned Dead Banana

Yeah I really like the A199 too. Been experimenting with it hooked up to the WAD in my Serge.

You mention you have 3 different tanks. Could I ask where & how you got those?

^ its one of two euro modules I kept, love it!

There's some info on here: http://wiki.muffwiggler.com/wiki/Spring-line_Reverb_Tanks

Ebay often turns up the accutronics tanks, there's a guy in germany doing some other ones too- I might be up for splitting post on that if you ever go for it.

Currently have one of the accutronics in mine along with the belton, what Id like to swap is the tank in my moisterizer.

I got mine from these guys: http://www.sepigroup.com/index.html ! They sell accutronics tanks via ebay (sepi_group).

These are the ones i bought:
8BB3C1B
9BB3D1B
9BB3C1B

I can change my tanks without problems, because i have the connection jacks on the front panel of the A199.

Nevertheless i am looking for a transportable pedal solution. Track above was made with the Spring King.
Next in line is the Vanamps Solemate and then i will try both in the FX send of a mixer.

Okay, time for the next one. Quite similar patch, same modules used (260e, Zerosum Inertia Tube ModuleModules VCA and VCF, Eardrill d.lfo and quadVCA), but this is a much more "Buchla-like" track.

It features the Vanamps Sole-Mate.

Like the SpringKing the Buchla audio signal needed heavy attenuation. Again this was not because the pedals distorted, but the original signal was so loud, that you simply could not hear the reverb FX!

The Sole-Mate seems to have much longer springs and it sounds darker (maybe more grown up would be a good explanation?).

Spoiler: Next i will make some drones with the Spring reverbs in the FX chain of a small mixer

This is weird. It sounds like some granular synthesis I've played around with.

Interesting! But i guess this is more because of the Zerosum Inertia tube modulemodules than because of the spring reverb!
7thDanSound
This is all very interesting stuff, I like hearing the Buchla combined with other gear in ways unique to the performer!

the tracks with the Vanamps Sole-Mate are really good! it's a lovely sound.

i agree with exeterdown about it sounding quite granular in nature.

Thanks a lot my friends screaming goo yo

And now: Let's go on! It is Drone time!

Same modules like in the track above were used. Spring reverb used is the Danelectro Spring King, but his time the SendFX of a Mixer was used. The out signal of the Reverb was then used to feed a normal channel of the mixer (not the FX return channel!).

At the end of the track you can hear the sound of me kicking the Reverb pedal really hard Dead Banana Nothing you should do with a digital Spring reverb hihi

Thanks Claus for sorting me out with an Accutronics spring tank. Works well with my Doepfer A199 - I may even get a second one so I can have both tanks available at once.

The Serge is going to be it's friend.

Guinness ftw!

Thanks Ian,

great shot we're not worthy and an awesome first track, too: https://www.muffwiggler.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=61461

Here is my turn on feedback with a spring reverb. I am starting to fall in love with the sound of the Vanamps Solemate, so this is a love song and no demo hihi

[s]http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/church-of-wine-in-spring-part[/s]
Link: http://soundcloud.com/weinglas/church-of-wine-in-spring-part

It is used with FX send of a mixer to audio in of the Solemate and audio out of the Solemate to a free mixer channel, where i can set the feedback with the FX send knob. I kicked it hard in the middle and at the end of the track you can hear the self oscillating sound of the Spring Reverb with Feedback.

Modules used were the 260e, the Zerosum Inertia VCA and VCF Modulemodules, an Eardrill quadVCA and an eardrill dLfo!

And another one. This time with rhythm and reverb feedback play to celebrate the summer solstice:

Thanks a lot my friend! I appreciate this!

BTW: For those who do not look in other Subforums, the Zerosum Inertia Tube Modulemodule VCA ZIMM01, which was used on the audio signal on all these tracks, is now available at Zerosum Inertia and Escapefromnoise!
