Archer Color Video Processor Schematic

Post by hexinverter » Mon Sep 17, 2012 10:18 pm

I managed to score the user manual for this unit when I bought one for $12 from some nice old guy in town here.

I modded my color processor into "CHROMACANNON", which is now a voltage controlled colour processor (see this thread: viewtopic.php?t=66974 )

This is from back when places used to have the SCHEMATIC in a user manual! Awesome.

Anyway, I've made a high resolution scan for everyone :) Make sure to click and blow the image up before downloading...it's huge! :cloud:

Wow, so one could build an entire chromacannon from scratch?
Anything to keep in mind if one were to try and build all of this on a protopcb?

You could! I wouldn't recommend it though...with the rare CA1398 chip and all the other parts, it would probably cost you more than getting one for $30 on eBay...

I got mine for $12 ;)

The schematic is more useful for modding it. As you can see, the chroma and hue pots are actually providing a voltage to the chip for control. In other words, VOLTAGE CONTROL!!! :cloud:

Hey I know this thread is kinda old, but would you happen to have the schematic saved? that link is dead as hell.

Does anyone have a copy of this schematic? It's been taken down at the Hexinverter website. Thanks!

I believe there were more than one version of this, but here's the schemo for one of 'em
