Yup, +/-12V or +/-15V, it can do both.

I think I'll go for 2x Chips, 2x PCBs, and 2x Panels.

Could you give me a quote for the total, and also how much you want upfront?

I'd like a load of your other PCBs and panels as I'm planning to start a 3U system. PM me if you can do a bulk package deal...

Cheers,
Richard :tu:

I'll hopefully be ordering a Hot-Rod VCF when the time comes too! :hyper:
And of course the Sci-Fi 5 if & when!

BTW - Rick... Thank you very much for making these projects available! I get so much pleasure putting these together, learning as Im going and finally using them in my system! Thanks mate! And of course thanks to Tom for the wonderful Electric Druid chips!

The Hearn Morley VCOs are used by some customers who order bulk quantities. If you guys can time it right I may be able to tack an order onto this and do an even better price. It always pays to ask :) Thanks, George Hearn (Hearn Morley)

I've been on the fence on this but now I reckon I'm in... just the one for now, see how the finances pan out when the crux comes. Roll on Kickstarter!

Good news! Thanks George!

Really keen on building these VCO's, should be pretty simple and quick builds!

Here's one I put together on a strip board.
I love this vco. The square waves pulse width sound amazing.
The knobs are not wired yet but I think they will be pwm and fine tune.

With the Silent way calibration you get full keyboard span

Here are a few basic demos
simple square

and with a bit of the lovely pulse width

add a wasp filter and a funky 100m env from the amazing frequency central and some fx

and finally slip in a 303 OSC from DYNSYNC and shove result into a clone 1176

I bought a couple of the HM VCO modules, but haven't used them yet. George used to have a link on his site to an internal schematic for this module. I used that to build a discrete version of his VCO. It works and sounds great.

One naive question though: these modules put out 16-20 Vpp, dependent on power supply voltage. That's 2-4 times the 5-10 Vpp ratings I see on most other modular signal generators. Should the outputs be buffered and scaled down to a more standard range before feeding them into other modular gear?

^^^ I like the way the high output can really drive a filter into saturation.

Good point. I have noticed this 'feature' now that I think about it. :)
It does sound quite awesome. I suppose I can leave it as is and attenuate it at the mixer and/or filter input.

Here it is: afaik, the same guts as the HMVCO1c module. Not nearly as small though. This one uses BCM847 matched pair. I also made an LS318 version that I think tracks a little better, but those are hard to find and $$$.

Next to HM module for comparison:

Wow that's amazing! Could you hear any difference with the ls318 version?
I have ordered 2040 to check out have tried these filters at all?

I know I'm really late, but I would be interested in the VCO and the ADSR Boards, the modules look like a dream

Hello forum (my first post),

is this project still active? I would be really interested in a pcb and frontplate for the VCO (and also for the VCF). Both sound killer!

Greetings,

Nils
