Neinohnein Rim Tune Pots

Post by toneburst » Thu Jun 05, 2014 6:23 am

I can't seem to source 5k 16mm log pots locally. Would 4.7k log pots do?

I presume the smaller values would just narrow the range of the control slightly, but without having heard any examples of what the Tune 1/2/3 pots do to the sound, I don't know if the difference would be significant.

Any tips?

I also didn't have the right resistors for the pots, so used the nearest values I had, with the locally-sourced 470k pots. Seems to work OK. I guess the ranges of the Tune controls aren't exactly as intended, but I don't think it matters too much. I can get realistic 909 rim sounds, and some variations on that sound, so all is good, I think.
