that is awesome man. i had some trouble and haven't acquired the mini-wave yet. the kit is out of stock so i'm just waiting til it's back.

i've already got the Quantizer ROM from David Hylander's site just sitting in my parts drawer all lonely. it just needs a home. that's all it needs.

have you decided what ROMs you're gonna get for the Mini-Wave or are you just gonna go with the stock Bank A and go from there?

Heh, I'm gonna do the same pretty damn soon. Just realised I've really been hitting my head against a brick wall with my MOTM cabinet. Eurorack or Blacet Frac seems to be a much more sensible path for where/who I am...

Start off stock, then I'll get a waveform city... Is there a pre-made version out yet???

??

waveform city is the wiard 300 module not much unlike the miniwave. main difference being it has an onboard classic VCO.

blacet ships with the stock and also offers the socket rocket which i'll probably get eventually.

david hylander sells a variety of ROMS worth considering. i bought the scale quantizer because that's what's lacking most in my system but i'm guessing i'll get more in the future. just don't wanna trip til i actually have a mini-wave. anyways check out these pages:

http://blacet.com/MW.html
http://blacet.com/SR.html
http://www.hylander.com/miniwave.html
http://blacet.com/MWwaveguide.PDF

and this page is outdated but has some cool sound examples:

bro i posted it with all the other links.

http://www.hylander.com/miniwave.html

non DIY? not that i know of. i kinda wish there was though. as much as i love diy i don't have a huge inclination to do that project.

but then i don't have a huge inclination to have over 2,000 waveforms either. guess time will tell.

there's a lot of things i thought i'd never be into that i ended up doing. like getting married for instance. wtf. lol.

Ha... Yeah, I saw your post posthumously... :hihi:

Oh I fucking crack myself up... Too bad there isn't a non-diy option. The older I get, the less patience I have for DIY...

not to contradict myself but now that i'm lookin over things again i kinda wanna do it.

just need to ask david some questions or muff for that matter since he's done it. david's real nice. had no issues ordering the scale quantizer ROM off him.

i'm just thinking since i don't have an MW yet i might just get the expander and build everything at the same time. that way i won't have to remove any parts from the MW.

boy i'm carving out a challenge for myself now. haha.

blacet modules are excellent! welcome!

i have the miniwave + socket rocket and i am more than happy with all of those waveforms. i haven't felt the need for more, especially since you can only access one ICs worth of waveforms at a time. i think should i feel the need for more, i'd probably just get another miniwave and use different ICs than my first miniwave.

I sold my TM7 to fund getting a Blacet rack, PSU, and Mini Wave with the additional Socket Rocket. Should be here before the end of the month.

D/A A/D, i swear, you will flip over the Noise Ring. J3RK's demos are what got me stoked on it originally as well. It was so so so much more than I thought it would be. The ability to adjust how much randomness or pure repetion is so sweet, you can make clocks that are stable for a while then every one in a while (or 4 bars or whatever you want) go crazy with unmetered bursts for a measure.... you can get straight clock from it of course... and then the same flexibility when getting cvs to use for modulation from the thing... and then as the most insane audio source ever

it's just nuts. i have a bunch of other noise modules, white noise, pink noise, digital noise. they are great and are noise modules. the name of the noise ring fooled me - the noise ring is not a noise module, it's really a super modulation device that can give you lotsa noise as well. you'll flip. it's really as flexible as the VCS is, in terms of the amount of different shit you can do with just the one module. you'll flip.

and on the other topic (there's a thread around somewhere in the blacet forum) yeah David Hylander is a SUPER nice guy, please tell him i say 'hi', and i've been through the process with him and am very proud of my expander and EXTREMELY GRATEFUL to David for all he did for me.

so any questions on that, yeah fire away.

Also the Noise Ring's 'visuals' merge wonderfully with psychedelic experiences of all flavors.....

i'll be hitting you with questions for sure, i just want to actually secure a mini-wave first.

i hate having this quantizer rom and not being able to use it.
