New frac modular based album

Post by solitaryzen » Tue Sep 30, 2014 9:49 am

Apologies if this is considered inappropriate in this section, but thought it might be of particular interest here rather than in "Your Tunes Here". My new release on No. was created almost entirely on a frac modular system. The first piece also contains some VCS3 and sounds created in Ableton Live, but is mostly frac modular. The other 3 pieces are entirely frac modular (mostly Blacet & Metalbox):

[bandcamp width=100% height=120 album=4180838935 size=large bgcol=ffffff linkcol=0687f5 tracklist=false artwork=small]

This is really good! :tu:

I really like the layered sequences. Is this all live? multitracked? Would love to hear more about your process & modules.

The first piece "Ascension Engine" was multi-tracked. Initially based around a couple of VCS3 drones combined with some manipulated samples and an Operator patch in Ableton live. Then layered some more modular synth drones and sequences later, and spent a bit of time mixing everything.

The other three pieces were pretty much recorded live from the frac modular into Ableton. The Metalbox gated comparator certainly played a major role in the two rhythmic tracks - self oscillating filters and noise sources providing most of the raw sound sources (and Miniwave in Neural Arch, with Klangwerk doing the harsh ringmod sounds in the background). Metalbox 8008 doing the kick. The other long drone piece (L1 Burst) was done with a couple of Blacet VCOs into MOTM-1490 VCF & MOTM-1190 VCA for the bass drone, self-oscillating FM'ed Mankato into Time Machine & Blacet/Synthesis Technology F580 for the high frequency drone, and Noise Cornucopia into Deflector Shield & bit crusher/distortion for the glitchy sounds.

As soon as we surf the internet and looking for the jammer products we can see that there are various types of signal jammers that are for sale in the market now such as the mobile phone jammers, GPS jammers, wifi jammers, UHF jammers, the multi-functional signal jammers and so many others kinds of signal jammer for sale as well. And what people now need to do is just select the best one according to their needs.
