Author video display for nw2s::b?

Has anyone thought about connecting a video display to the nw2s::b? Sort of like the one installed in the O'Tool or the minigorille one here:

Maybe this TFT would work?

I've given it more than a little thought. It certainly would step things up a notch. I tried fitting some sort of display early on, but we just couldn't get it to fit with all of the other things I wanted to be able to do with it. The biggest problem with displays is that they take up SO much more space than just the area you see.

I'm sure there will be something official in the future, but currently I have so many balls in the air with code that I need to finalize for 1.1 and even 1.2. Would love to see someone hack something with the SPI bus and some LEDs tho!

Apparently CV Graphic uses a 128x128 OLED. I think it's this one:

Adafruit has a library for it. What I'm unsure about is if all the necessary pins on the Due are available. I'll certainly install one in an adjacent panel if it's at all possible.

You will need to solder some pins, but yes, they are available...

These displays run on SPI which is the same interface that the SD card uses. You'll want to read up a bit on that if you aren't familiar. You'll need the SPI bus from the SD card interface (MISO, MOSI), a 3.3V and GND for power as well as a GPIO pin to use as the chip-select signal. It's pretty straight forward, but you may want to practice on a standalone Due before hacking up the 'b too much, just to make sure you know that it works without all the other stuff in the way.

Take a look at this page for some information on available pins:

Excellent. Thanks for the info Scott.
