Eurorack DIY Case Questions

Post by Waz » Sat Mar 06, 2010 5:31 pm

I'm planning a build for a really deep 6u euro case. I have the rails from a Doepfer DIY kit. I know how wide the wood has to be for the top, bottom and back. How wide do the sides have to be? exactly 6u? Do I compensate for some of the space my rails take up?

As shown in these pictures of my 6u sub-rack there are small gaps between rails;

Do I have to compensate for the rails? Is there a good rule of thumb for preparing the sides?

Why not measure the rack you have right there?

it seems that the panels already compensate for the rails. i'm not 100%, so I'd definitely measure what you've got there
