I've been pondering what sequencer to pair with my Animoo for a while and this video has got me thinking that maybe the Vinatge Voltron 3 panel might be nice.
What is the advantage of this panel over a TKB?
Is it basically two 4 stage sequencers or two 16 stage sequencers? I don't fully understand how this works.

Think about it some more. Look at all those switches. Think about what you would use to control those switches. You could use one row of a programmer, or... That sequencer on the left can be a divider, and it has a hold function... You could think of each programmer as a four-by-four matrix. You could access any node in the matrix at any time, using the switches and the stage select inputs. How would you get your hands on one of these panels?

Thanks lumin. Finances dictated that I had to sell the VV3 panel just after making that video.

I have just finished my Swamp, and the Bog will be also ready in a day or two. I plan on keeping these panels and will be uploading more videos of these panels, and the Edelweiss, in the next couple of weeks.

Each of the programmer/sequencers on the VV3 is basically a 4 row/4 step sequencer. The 6 bi-directional routers allow you to create longer sequences by connecting the row outputs to the routers, then the control signal determines which row is active at the output. It's basically being used as a 2 input sequential switch. You can create 2 rows of 8 steps or one row of 16 steps this way. The gate sequencer is great for providing the control signals for the routers.

The great advantage the VV3 has over the TKB is the ability to run the 2 prog/sequencers at different clock rates. Also, in the video I used the routers to switch *direction* and between clock rates driving the right side sequencer.

The main advantage of the TKB, apart from the touch pads and the 16 steps, is availability. The VV3 was a limited run and finding a panel will be quite tricky. I am really regretting selling the VV3 and would love to find another front panel.

Thanks for the info Clockgate...
So, only the panel of the VV3 is no longer available?
No one can make a custom panel of it?
The insides of it are still available though right?

The Vintage Voltron panels were a limited run, and are well gone unless you can find one on the b/s/t. The pcbs are available from ken stone http://www.cgs.synth.net/

Random Source http://randomsource.net/are the newest source for4U panels & pcbs, no sequencer yet, but give it time.

Love this video!

I'm building the Programmer and the Switch, but I'm not 100% sure on the Gate Sequencer. I think I don't quite understand it at the moment. What advantage does it have over using, say an LFO to clock the Programmer?

Strictly as a clock not as much of an advantage, but the main thing is that it allows you to pull out individual steps or divisions, and of course it allows you to reset and things like that. Much more flexible in ways, although with a divider + logic + a vc lfo you could have essentially the same thing, even more flexible but would require more “patch programming”
