3 voices is pretty limited, and controlling 6 ops with those little Volca knobs looks difficult...

...nevertheless I have no doubt I want this. I'm a sucker for FM klangs. The non-analog Volcas seem the most interesting to me!

The card below it includes the bullet point: "Fully compatible with Yamaha DX-7 sound files".

Well, there it is. A Lately Bass machine.

For me anyways this makes much more sense than a Reface DX. It might be my first Volca purchase.

Yeah, I never bought into the Volca stuff but this one has me interested. You know it's gonna be super cheap price-wise. The grittier the better as far as I'm concerned too.

Yeah the Reface DX just doesn't have much appeal when you can buy a TX81z or DX21 for $100 or so.

This Volca just looks more fun; a cheap little technoid klang box for a portable setup.

Has this been confirmed anywhere? This is the only picture I've seen. Certainly looks proper, especially with that card underneath. But it's not listed in Korg's otherwise quite comprehensive "New Products for 2016" page. At least, not yet.

I love the Volca series though and hope this is real. Not sure if it's for me but I have some DX7-using friends that currently have all their big-old-gear packed away in their new house that might love having a little portable DX7 sounding device.

Man if they come up with a phone app thingie (like the volca sample one) that lets you send dx7 standard patches i'm gonna be really happy!

Good lord, this NAMM has me more excited (read: scared for my wallet) about new gear than I have been in years. I want to hear this so bad! :help:

Hmm you are right. Seems like a lot of effort to go through just to make a fake volca, although someone did fake that mixer volca. Maybe this is just an early prototype?

Saw it posted somewhere else with a disclaimer that it was faked, but take that with a grain of salt...

I sold my dx7 because the membrane was still intact, had to go before I compromised it. Better believe I'll be getting back on the space xylophone train.

Saw another picture of it in Richard Divine's Instagram feed. Starting to think it's real. I've just seen so little coverage of this compared to the Teenage Engineering and Dave Smith stuff, and since Korg announced so much other stuff last week I didn't think they'd keep this out of their announcements.

Now I want to hear it!

I saw someone on Instagram point out that the first picture has some red text in the black part of the label that says "non-working prototype, do not touch."

OK. The relative silence on this makes sense now. Probably something we'll see in spring.

Pretty cool I have to say. I've always wanted a DX but could never justify the space it would take up. Since this takes DX7 patches, I wonder if it can take fm8 patches as well?

It's settled then. I need the 90s electric piano sound.
