[ModyPoly] Is Polysix internal battery still needed?

Post by Seaweed Sound » Tue Jun 07, 2016 12:37 am

My Polysix had the original Varta battery replaced with a floating alkaline battery pack before any PCB damage occured.

After upgrading to the ModySix CPU replacement is the internal battery even needed anymore or are patches stored in the CPU upgrade which presumably has some on board memory?

Hi,

the battery is still needed.
The ModyPoly only replaces one of two CPUs - the key assigner.
The CPU which handles the program memory is untouched and thus still needs the backup battery.

Good to know.. thought it might be similar to the SH-1oh1 in that regard. Will put fresh batteries in the Polysix then, thanks
