So when this save command is sent the settings for each Omnimod channel is saved & then recalled at a later date even after the omnimod channels have been changed and edited?

General question to any omnimod & varigate 4+ owners - is this combo extending the omnimod usability for you?

You save on the varigate and the save state message flashes on the omnimod just as it does every now and then normally.

I’d pretty much bet there is no way to actually save on the omnimod, I think the stuff in the spiel is talking about in conjunction with the storage strip. I’m pretty sure it is possible to implement though, from what I remember select bus settings are actually saved on the host module. All the varigate or storage strip does is send a message to save or to recall.

@ southfork thanks, the varigate 4+ looks pretty deep anyway so I've decided to give it a bash!

ok stupid question time.. i just haven't been able to figure this one most important thing about the module.

how do you add/delete points across the line?
how do you reset to the most basic preset?

thx

You can't.

I have been able to reset the state of channel one by powering the module with the left encoder held down, or right??, And going through the test sequence and selecting yes to delete channels. Only does ch 1.

No adding or subtract

Just ordered the Varigate 4 too as it seems the most economical storage option and as VCOADSR says it looks interesting in it's own right.
I'm looking for nothing at this moment in time

Just bought a varigate v4+ to go with my varigate 8+ and can confirm you can save and recall omnimod presets in the 16 varigate slots :tu:

So where are we with this module? Anyone know how to clear/initialize a channel or learn any tricks?

Are we ever going to see new firmware or an expanded manual?

Hell will freeze, then melt, freeze again, and melt again, and Jesus will return a few times, messiah too, before we'll see any of that. I reckon we should learn to live with what we have with this. :)

Absolutely. No complaints here either. One of the most useful and interesting modules I have. :)

The only Channel you can clear to the factory settings or defaults is Channel One. Power on the module with the right and coder pressed in and then go through the menus and delete the channels. It will only delete channel 1. My suggestion then would be to take a note of all of the positions of the change points on the screen and then apply them to the other three channels and you can reset it yourself back to normal default. You could do that by pressing the right 3 Channel buttons at once.

I thought there was some magic going on when suddenly my Omnimod started responding to my varigate8+

Does this system of running things through the power bus have a name yet?

I wish there was a smaller more affordable module for save and recall of the omnimod with cv, seems like a waste to use a varigate4+

there was but it's no longer made. Storage Strip by macromachines.. i have one. .it's awesome. and yeah.. the omnimod responds to the CV bus when there's a master module present. varigate8+/4+ will do the job..

if you're using a varigate 4+ already you might as well use it to save presets on the omnimod.. just make it art of your sequences.

it would be great if someone made a storage strip type module again. it would sell a lot i think.

btw the Disting4 from expert sleepers also responds to the CV bus when saving/recalling stuff.

Thanks for this! I have one so will pop that on the same bus.

Eurorack manufacturers should be making more use of this CV bus magic.

When the rams horn echoes over Jerusalem it’s either because
1, Mashiach has come.
2, Half life 3 confirmed.
3, Omnimod firmware update.

:hihi:

(Mashiach can’t come soon enough tho)

So I picked up one. It's new one.

Since it doesn't have manual, firmware upgrade, video tutorial....am I crazy?
:bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
I checked Vcoadsr's manual which is fantastic. So I figured most.

1. Mine says 1.8.1. Is this the newest firmware?

2. I tried to clear or default graph(or lfo or env.) using the method described above and didn't work for me. Is there a way to clear or back to default?

3. It still keeps saving. Has this been fixed(?)?

Big thanks!!!!!
